I read the first two chapters, and this story is AMAZING.

Nidha this is even more beautiful than ur RaHi which i just.

I love it when people try to move forward in life though it is difficult.

u have beautifully portrayed Riya and Arjun and their commencement of something new. and beautifully described minor expressions especially i refer to first part here.

So here's the next one...

Part 3

"So shall I think it is a dinner date?" Arjun asked smiling looking at the sea from his room window.

Riya was on the line and had , half stuttering, invited him for a dinner at the place she stayed in Kerala

"Hello Riya, you there" he asked not getting a reply.

"Yeah" came the soft reply " Will you come?"

"Sure, I will be there at eight sharp" Arjun said, deciding not to tease her further through phone.

He heard Riya's sigh of relief before the line went dead.

For the rest of the day Arjun felt light and happy. A tad bit excited too, though he didn't want to admit.

He loved being in Riya's presence. She still had the infectious smile which captured many hearts. His wasn't immune either.

Though Riya would smile at him otherwise, he decided to get a gift for her just to get an extra dose of her smile.

After mulling long over the matter, he settled for the clich, flowers. He had no idea which was her favourite and in the end opted for white roses.

As eight' o'clock neared so did Arjun's and Riya's excitement. Both wanted to be in each others company for as much time as possible.

Because both were unsure if they would have a future.

So it was that when Riya opened her door to Arjun, both were absolutely delighted to see each other. After all present was what was certain. Not future.

"Hey!" Riya smiled making Arjun happy .

Extending the white roses he said

"I hope you are not allergic to them"

Riya chuckled and accepted them with an even brighter smile.

"Nope, in fact they are one of my favourites"

"I am relieved" Arjun stepped in as Riya moved aside.

"Nice place. The locality is beautiful too"

"My friend suggested the place and well you know I love the sea right" Riya said.

"Which is why you almost drowned yourself on that case we solved" Arjun teased.

"I was just trying to save the guy" Riya corrected with a mock glare.

Both laughed out in a moment.

"So dinner first or chat first" Riya asked

"Chat" Arjun said settling down on a soft chair.

"Okay, I will get something to drink" Riya smiled and went towards the kitchen.

Arjun busied himself with the living room . The neatness around suggested that Riya's obsession was not quiet out.

He was reminded of his apartment in Mumbai which was always in the messiest possible state.

Ever since he had lost his better half.

It would be good to have someone take care of that. And Him.

"Sir,I mean Arjun" Riya came with two glasses of fresh juice "I hope you like orange"

"I see you still don't drink alcohol" Arjun commented taking a glass.

"No and I don't serve it either" Riya emphasised.

Arjun smiled earning one in return.

"So Riya job done here" he asked wanting to know of her plans.

"Yeah almost, got a few more things to do for the orphanage. I guess I will be returning back after two days" she replied.

"Back to ETF?" Arjun asked.

"Not decided yet" Riya replied, lost in thought "I won't most probably"

"How about you Arjun?" she asked.

"Same here. I do need a job. But if I still want the adrenaline rush that ETF gives me, not sure about that" Arjun replied.

They smiled again. Their future was most certainly uncertain.
