If Dikvijay and his brother were anything like veer and Vikram he would definitely take the blame upon himself to protect his brothers image.

If his brothers dying wish was to make sure veer receives his rights as a prince it would make sense that khumud would give him away. Everything makes sense. Finally a sensible solution.
