There's almost a pattern in Anupamaa.
- They bring in a social issue, usually including a female (because, female audience). Target: to show social cause.
- Anupa fights for/ supports/ cares for the said female, mostly against all. Target: to show Anupa as the greatest.
- Anupa makes a mistake or a series of mistakes (Brushed under the carpet). Target: Anupa is naive or family oriented or bahut bahut bahut responsible and can't handle all the matkas or everything.
- The said female turns negative or turns against Anupa (both are presented as equivalent
).
- Anupa doesn't acknowledge her mistakes and doesn't apologise. Cries bucket bhar bhar ke. The said female gets all the hate. The mistake is presented as mahanta. Target: Anupa becomes bechari.
- The said female realises "her" mistakes. Turns good (momentarily, because she either leaves or dies or turns "bad" again). Target: Anupa's goodness wins.
And in between the social cause dies a painful death.
