I hate to admit it but I NEVER liked CA at all. I didn't find her cute but felt ashamed to admit it. Plus she was this mahaan boring child, not quirky and witty like regular kids. All child actors at YRKKH had their quirks and fun moments, even the ones who became future vamps. Even Ghum child actors were adorable even when Vinu was destined to be negative. CA se zyada cute Baa thi aur usse zyada quirky uski maa thi. I even found Maaya more tolerable than her. Plus she brought more problems in MaAn relationship. She was never the solution. She was the one who has been blamed for Upmaa not being able to go to Amrika the second time. We do know that Upmaa became quickly involved in Shahs afterwards. She was more concerned about Kavya 's kid who wasn't even related to Shahs. She was more busy with Romil than with CA. She clearly blamed CA subconsciously and tried to stay away from her maximum possible. CA was adopted mainly because Anooj wanted her. Upmaa just agreed because she wanted to be compared to Yashoda. Plus Anuraj with Shah kids bond was more natural than Maan with CA. The actress Asmi would have been better as Mahi than as CA and Hera who played Ruhi in YRKKH would have been better CA. Asmi had more chemistry with Vanar than either Rupali or GK. I used to think that Rupali and Asmi had issues offscreen which is why Anupamaa was shown avoiding CA but actually Rupali and Asmi are close offscreen so this was something which makers had done. Still the offscreen bond was unable to be shown properly offscreen. And also, CA may have been the reason why Samar became a henpecked hubby. Samar used to see Anuj as Dad and Maa as his God. After Maan wedding, their focus was P, T, CA and last Samar. He was neglected even more than CA. Plus Anuj having more fatherly feelings for CA and P-T more than him made him insecure. Plus CA was Chotti Anu, the one who not only shared name but also nature with Maa. She was also the only child she had with the one he believed was Maa's true love. He might have felt replaced. Even P,T and others were not involved in adoption. CA was never seen as sibling of P,T and S and even Anuj never saw 4 as siblings.

Now that Aurra has taken over, I have to admit that the character of CA/Aadhya/Next gen Anupamaa has become more tolerable. Aurra's acting is better and she is totally a classic teenager. Her chemistry with Maa, Shru and Anuj is good. She is also relatable because we all feel insecure when our parents are kind to people who we know are wrong for us. Plus the interference from snooty good for nothing relatives and parents making grand gestures for fake people is something which hurts everyone. I can totally understand where she is coming from. Her trauma is real and not some made up story or tantrum. Nobody, not even her father, tried to understand her. The father was always obsessed with Maa even after divorce. Only Shruti is someone who genuinely cared for her without any selfish motive. Even Maya used her to get close to Anuj. We do know Maya's last wish was for Maa to be with CA but Maa even disregarded the wishes of a woman who died because of her self obsession. Even though I disliked CA, Upmaa did neglect her and did leave her when she needed her most repeatedly. Plus Crinjal aka Mini Dukhmukh never liked Aadhya. She wanted Maa to be available for her 24/7. She also actively caused a lot of issues for not only Apmaan but also Shahs. I have never seen Maa doing something truly selfless for Aadhya. She has always been selfless for P, C,T and her grandkids. Plus she has more humanity than selfish P and T. She saved even a girl she hated. Plus the character is more layered than little screeching girl. She is sad, bitter, angry, hurt, caring, kind, protective and mature at same time. Unlike the problem causing Bebli who was blamed for Maan fights, Aadhya is the one who has been bringing Maaan together again and again. She will be reason for Maan reunion.

I agree with this part of what you have written. The girl is a great actress, can emote so well and the fact that Aadhya the character pulled Pari closer and tried to reassure her showed the “kind” side of her. After Pari mentioned her daadi and Aadhya remembered the accident, I assumed Aadhya would let go of Pari. She did not, when the kid clutched at her, she continued to hold her. Very nice touch on part of the creatives, to show this nuance in Aadhya’s character.

Agree, couldn’t warm up to CA because of her Mahaan nature, she was initially shown too mature for her age, but later when she started behaving her age mostly after her repeated panic attacks and Malti Devi’s entry, she became tolerable. Though I don’t agree that CA caused problems between her parents, it was always Anupama who was the root cause of all troubles

Aurra is doing a great job as CA, I relate so much with her character now. This is how most teenagers are, especially those who have single parents.

Today’s episode belonged to her, really good performance!

Aura is better actor than Asmi. She have range of expressions so she emotes every scene beautifully.she made us feel her anger justified.

Asmi is very young and I am not sure if this was her first show, she is a cute child, Aurra is experienced as a lead.

It was the script writing & character sketch initially for CA, they wanted to portray her as mini Anupama, but fortunately she turned out to be a normal human being.

Aurra also started as a child artist but she was good there too. Their also she played the character very well.

In Asmi case they should have tone down her tone. She was loud. She looked good when she is quite but became irritating when started her ye ye ye. That was so ott. In some scenes she looked so much matured compared to her age.

It was also related to script writing. CHOTI Anu has come from an orphanage. She couldn't afford to displease her mother where her father was also Maa bhakt. It's survival mechanism that she acted like Mahaan and I won't create any trouble so don't send me back type. But later when she felt secured to express her displeasure at things especially after Malti Devi, her character got more layers. Now after many years being with Anuj, she feel she has right to demand which often came out as aggressive also, which is totally normal for her age but some people says that she should forever act indebted.

So her childhood wasn't like other kids who feel a right over their parents from day one. She gradually developed this believe that she too has rights and expressing her desires won't harm her with dire consequences. That's why she is now shown as a confident character who can speak for herself rather than timid and acting Mahaan self of her childhood days. Unfortunately Anupama is still stuck in that state of mind of 5 ys old acting Mahaan and haven't grown beyond that even after 55 years of life.

It takes a lot to pen it down and kudos to that.

Choti Anu to Aadhya. This is the only character that got an arc. Love her ir hate her, one has to admit, this is the only character on the show that got a range of emotions. Both the artists have made it their own.

The scenes of Choti Anu's silent understanding and supporting Anuj especially when Anupama forces him to accept Malati Devi.

When she comes to talk to Anuj before leaving with Maaya but abruptly stops.

The hurt and pain during the dance competition.

Were beautifully executed by the child artist.

Obviously with a teenager, the writers have a larger canvas to explore and the artist is an excellent actor.

I don't know if it is true, but it appears that the creatives and production house is careful in writing certain characters more than the others given their social standing. Like, if they know that a certain actor has a strong social media presence, they would be careful in trying to destroy the role (because eventually each one of them has to be destroyed inirder ti elevate the lead). They may instead choose to phase out the character unannounced.
