What can be called as empowerment ?

If your income was 0, and you started earning even 15K-20K, then it can be called empowerment, but if you were a shareholder of a big company, and were withdrawing a good salary from it, and now you are working as a chef and cleaner in a restaurant, how can it be called as empowerment? Wouldn't that be called as demotion?🤔

Moving out of an abusive family and moving into an apartment can be called as empowerment, but how can moving out of a bungalow and living in the store room of a restaurant be called as empowerment?🤔

Being successful in life on a solo journey, after distancing from an abusive family, can be called as empowerment, but how can leaving a supportive husband and daughter and then roaming around alone, pretending to be on a solo journey, can be called as empowerment?🤔

In India, achieving something by working hard can be called as empowerment, but how can getting everything first by begging and then on the mercy of the interested male boss, on a platter in America be called as empowerment?🤔

Impressing a Guru Maa or a Yashpal through hard work and improvement in skills can be called as empowerment. But how can impressing a Deepu by showing him your sob story be called as empowerment?🤔

All valid points ! My pov on this is a below.

Unfortunately, it's just a trp game at the moment ( and I do believe trps are rigged).

A chunk of people out of habit keep watching the serial.

Another chunk watch it because they don't find anything wrong with anupama and can relate to it somehow (no idea how though)

Yet another chunk watch because they are fans of x , y and z.

Then there is a segment of online audience which do not contribute to trp yet watch clips and read and here and there.

All in all, serial chalta hai and entertainment hota hai ( empowerment ke naam pe comedy hoti hai and hasi aati hai)

Women empowerment is the selling point for this show. We should not take it seriously.

I don't know why this needs a debate. She evolved from an unpaid maid to a paid maid. Isn't this enough of a journey of empowerment?
