Anu has treated all her 4 children equally. In the recent episode in her confrontation with CA she has confirmed it to her ,She said "tum chaarom mere bache hain aur mein tumhari Maa.yehi mera sach hain."

But CA wanted a mom exclusively for her and wanted undivided attention .This is the reason she is preferring Shruthi as her mom as she has no baggage,.

It's almost as if adults can create more riveting plotlines than children lol

Right .... Either Shahs or AAS should be written off. Not that it would happen. But until they all remain in her life, comparisons are bound to happen, between how she is with Shahs vs how she has been with Anuj and CA. Had she not gone out of the way for Shahs, maybe I would have empathized more with her character when Kapadias created troubles for her or when Anuj out of the blue questioned her on the accident day.

Look, they are caught in a vicious circle.

They created a character as the flag bearer of Empowerment. In a gamble, they introduced Anuj to promote re-marriage of a 45 year old divorcee.

This move paid off and how and the newly created couple posed a threat to the existing ex-cast.

Now the makers had many matkas to belence. Over time the role was butchered so bad that every other character appeared to garner more likeability than the central character, the theme, forgotten.

Now it has become like hot ghee, cannot swallow, cannot throw up.

They are, perhaps, testing what might keep the interest or return lost interest. This will go on till TRPs drop out if mere frustration.

Longevity unfortunately destroys most shows. But this show has been destroyed like no other. Here the abuse victim glorified and justified her abusers, and manipulators and endorsed many problematic viewpoints herself. For the sake of longevity, they had to keep the existing characters, to keep them they had to justify their existence, to justify their existence they used their central characters, who were essentially meant to oppose them. Then to justify the unjustifiable central character, they had to bring more characters who hailed her actions even though it defied rationality. It is indeed a vicious cycle.

Now they really don't know where to go. They can't write off Anuj as that would be too risky. They can't write off Shahs because they don't know to write anything apart from Shahs. They just can't create drama without them. Keeping both of them will inevitably make people compare Anupamaa's actions w.r.t both of them. So yeah, they are stuck.
