How cleverly they whitewashed domestic abuse.

This was always the goal. The makers and writers are highly sexist and regressive.

There was never going to be any realistic consequence for Adhik. They can show domestic abuse but never abuser being punished. Now all focus is on Romil and Adhik is shown grieving and loving his wife, Pakhi and Adhik will come closer.

The message is domestic abuse is no big deal and your abuser really loves you internally and will become good one day.

This has happened too many times in the show for it to be a co-incidence. Abuse, mental and physical, against women is always whitewashed and those who do are never punished. Only women like Maya etc face real consequence. Adhik, Vanraj, Toshu are never punished but are shown reformed and loving wife after abuse. This show is deliberately spreading this message in society that women should never move away from abusers and punish them, they will always love you one day and become good.

The goal of showing every social issue is exhibiting the "500 pannon ka bhashan" skills of the Female Lead. Lip service and nothing more.

The same person can do everything: be a doctor, nurse, maid, lawyer, detective, chef, bijjnesswoman, teacher, therapist, you name it. Baki sab, who cares🤷🏻‍♀️. They can fit in the frame.

Not really, the goal is not to whitewash men.

The ultimate goal is to show that women who sacrifice are the best. The men don't even do something very elaborate to undo their mistakes, it's just the women who forget everything and resume life like nothing happened.

  • Baa bhagwan glorified for living in low financial conditions with Dukhmukh.
  • MAA's sacrifices deserve about 500 pages
  • Maari Beautifool Kinju baby glorified for letting go of her mom's riches to be with a super toxic phemily for which she even compromised with a philandering and jobless husband who doesn't even do household chores or enough baby sitting.
  • Pakhu Sweetudi's gold digging forgotten because she replaced it with nepotism to "save her marriage" which makes it totally acceptable.

Only villains are Dimpy because she has no verbal filter and focuses on her materialistic needs like food, clothing and shelter,

and Balti Devi who was as obsessed with her career as MAA was with phemily, but only Balti's obsession was villianized.

Ranjan Shahi is Karan Johar of ITV.... trying to normalize DV as if DV is an immutable part of life, that depictions of violence do not have real life consequences....so it is the. responsibility of the victim to nurture the perpetrator ....by the time he/she could redeem themselves....

disgusting.....sickening.....horrible ....

Don't they keep saying that they keep taking aspects from Mother TamaShahi's own journey/phemli?

So are we to assume that all this happens in TamaShahi phemli. And perpetrators of DV, adultery etc are freely forgiven. Maybe Mawaali Jhuli dialogue of men being free to do anything they want is actually practiced in some places smiley11

I troll this show a lot for its stupidity. But this show in reality is very dangerous. They are giving a very dangerous message to gullible people who lap up these stuffs and idolize characters like Anupamaa. They have normalized all sorts of problematic behavior and given a message that no matter how many criminal things you do, you'll always be forgiven. It is ok to mentally and physically abuse your wife, cheat on her. Just shed a few tears and everything will be forgiven and forgotten. Women have no life above husband, kids and in-laws, no matter how abusive and toxic they are. And the most dangerous one, women are capable of balancing everything, they are superwomans who will magically manage every single thing. Thus putting them in a pedestal, making them vulnerable to all sort of expectations. Women are also normal human beings, not Anupamaa. Also turning victims into villains, cementing age old rusty ideas. This show really needs to end for being such toxic mess.

Totally agree.

This serial shows that:

Survivors of horrible crimes, illegitimate children are all eternally wicked. Adopted children can never match upto bio children and adopted parents cannot match upto bio parents. Women asking for legal property rights whether on divorce or marriage are committing a sin of the greatest degree. Working women are condemned but jobless men are majboor. A cheating / abusive husband can be punished by talking curtly with him for a week but the parents of that same husband must be worshipped even during that week. While becoming an unpaid maid, the woman must serve with a smile and at regular intervals say 'I am not a doormat', 'Elders are God', 'Relationships are not broken by papers'; so that the oppressive family is not questioned by society as the woman does the work of 10 idle people by her free will.

To the above I say,smiley35

Not only women. This show is trying to say that to everyone. We all saw how much Pakhi tortured Adhik but it was brushed under the carpet. The great Maa is torturing her pup oops mere Anuj daily but that is brushed under the garb of greatness. Although I do not like how Dimple is being portrayed but still dumbo Samar married her and puts up with her. Nobody should move on here except the one and only Anupamaa. Only she has the right to bhado udaan, chamko more than sooraj, give lectures and chaantas.

At times when melancholy sells, it's good to see people voice out against incorrect portrayal.

About time that makers, channels take responsibility of what is dished out.

By the by, is there no censorship in Television?

I had this feeling and that's why I stopped watching this show. Can't stand with their double standards.
