I agree with the topic maker. They could have shown Maaya and Dimple as strong positive characters from who Anupama could be inspired. Even if it's a cameo or side character. That would not make Anupama less than a main character but more real and relatable.

If it is a journey of Anupama then it would be become more real if she actually get inspired from some strong women and transform herself instead of giving idiotic bhashans on women empowerment.

A protagonist need not be always right and strongest. That makes him/ her less human and unbelievable. There should be a journey and a character progression which is completely lacking in Anupama. I agree all other characters should be related with the protagonist, some inspiring her, some giving her life lessons, some getting inspired from her, some simply by being her side.

It need not be only she is right and everyone else is wrong until they become her bhakt.

Yes but makers decided to give them rape backgrounds. No 1 show in india has some responsibility instead of just chasing TRPs. Why did they need to turn just a cameo to a rape victim who turned evil? There are many other storylines which was possible, Maya could have been a rich, spoilt brat.

Come on, you cannot excuse every single bad decison by writers

It didn’t make Lord Ram any less..

Showing other characters strong makes the story strong and also the Titular Character.

Which is why Ramayana is an epic which will live forever, while Anupama show is a joke which people watch mostly to laugh at

Any good movie and show has lots of strong supporting characters.

I haven't t heard any show runs successfully with the help of only supporting cast.😕The major part of a show's success belongs to main cast only.

Btw,according to you who are the strong supporting cast in this show?

-Dimpy or Maya???🤢But u were complaining that Dimpy was shown as a jealous bahu and maya who has already exited from the show is a shown as a home wrecker ,mentally ill person??Do they also belong to ur list of strong

I think I have already mentioned in my earlier posts that a rape victim or a cameo can become an opportunist or thankless person according to the situation.Just like MD who was shown as a supportive guru will now turn evil as Anupama refused to go to U.S.

But the issue is, there is a stereotype about rape victims becoming "bad or spoiled" and no one wanting to marry them. The show could have gone 2 ways, 1) show that even rape victims can be good wives and good bahus, or 2) go for cheap TRPs

Surely people understand what impacts shows have on society? People learn and follow what is shown. Rape victims already have so much trauma and such shows set bad examples

See that is the main point! Why to make her evil? Anupama don't go to the US, she has all rights to charge her money or file a case as Anupama has signed a contract.(Based on whatever clause is there in the contract)

But now makers will turn her downright evil seeking revenge and doing all wrong things and all that just to glorify Anupama more and people will forget that Anupama indeed caused losses to MD.

Keep aside the other female characters. It is not even pro it's own lead character 🤣

Look at the storylines given to her. Constantly having to run around, cry and make questionable choices. Even after 3 years, her promised udaan keeps floundering and is essentially nowhere. She only makes a mess everytime and receives flak, sometimes for no fault of her own. Surely, the lead character of such a popular show, the one due to whom most people watch, deserves much better.

But makers would rather have her in a constant pitiable state because as per them the lead character is not the titular one but the ex husband who cheated and abused her 🤡

Dimpy is her Daughter in Law

Maya is her daughter’s Bio Mother

Inke bhi separate story nahi hai..

Maya and Dimpy who had Traumatic past can be shown as Successful Positive women who inspired Anupama to become an Independent Woman and fulfill her dreams
