And she didn't fight forced prostitution in one day, it was something she went through and came out of after a lot of struggle and trauma. But what she's doing now is definitely cheap and horrible, but that's what our complaint was with the makers -Why give them a really sad story only to make them into villains and further regressive stereotypes? Just to be clear, I don't ship Anuj with Maya at all, and I would've never wanted him to do an EMA with her even if she was not negative, that just ruins his whole character and what he stands for. Even if Anupama allows Vanraj to cross boundaries constantly, wouldn't want Anuj to do that but would rather want him to divorce her and move on. And anyway, Anuj behaved and continues to behave horribly with Maya, if she had any self respect herself, she wouldn't still lust after him. Very inconsistent with the strong character they showed during her entry.

I think the character development of Maaya is one of the most stark examples of how the writers keep changing the tone of the characters according to their convenience. (I think you feel something similar?)

...hmmm...plot has become a little boring - time for a mysterious figure to appear!

Exactly my point. There was no reason to dislike Maya initially, she was right to come back for her biological daughter when she was in a position to, based on her past story. In fact you would want to support her because of how she overcame her tragic past and emerged stronger. Then suddenly she's the vamp again chasing after a married man in spite of him repeatedly rejecting her advances and showing disgust quite openly.

Yess, like the point you made, the show seems to be still going ahead with the narrative that she's the biological mother - so seeing her take proof, albeit in an unrealistic and almost creepy way, still can be seen somewhat in a positive light, considering the context. Even in a normal case, and especially after the kind of backstory they gave her - it made sense that she wanted to protect her child from the dysfunctional (to use a very kind word) behavior of Shahs. But ah...with the snap of a finger, they seem to have turned her into someone almost one-dimensional.

Realistically, Anuj will stay happier with Maya. Choti + No Shahs. In MaAn, it was one sided love from his side from a long time, in Maya - Anuj, it's from Maya's side. The actors have a good chemistry and they still have potential to show Maya's arc like Kavya's. I prefer Anuj + Maya > MaAn. Of course, there is no where the story would progress like this.

Whether MaAn happens or not, I wish for Anupama to still draw boundaries with Shahs and not at all speak with Vanraj. Get a restraining order for him at last resort. That man is disgusting. The way he treats Kavya now 👎🏼. He is of no one but himself.
