It has been only two days since she had shifted to his house yet it seemed as if she always belonged here. She had the entire house under her control. GK had mentioned how she never allowed him inside the kitchen. He smiled thinking of the varieties of soups he had tasted in the past two days. Although he loved her being in control, it meant she had less time for him. Like today, he had seen her only when she came to wake him up or give him food or medicines. She had spent the night beside him on the sofa but that was not very clear to him as the painkillers had completely fogged his mind and he had slept as an unconscious man. As the sound of the cooker's whistle filled the air, he felt guilty that he was not able to help her in any way. His head didn't allow him to stand more than 10 minutes and his Anu didn't allow him to stand for more than 5 minutes. His Anu... he smiled slightly as the thought registered in his brain. She hadn't given him the right yet... still deep in his heart he knew that she was his. Didnt her very presence in the house confirm that?

As he sat lost in his thoughts, she entered the room holding a tray in her hands. The tray had a glass tumbler with some green liquid. He sighed softly at the sight of that. She quickly came to his bedside and gave him the glass. He made a face at it. She reached out and grabbed his hand placing the glass in it firmly. Knowing he would never win the argument, he raised his free hand in surrender and drank the liquid in one gulp. She smiled at his antics and stretched her hand to get the glass from him. He placed the glass in her hands and was about to thank her when something caught his eyes. She looked at where he was looking and saw a pink rash slowly turning purple just below her thumb. She had been so engrossed to try out this new recipe that she hadn't noticed she had burnt her fingers in the process. A warm blush crept her cheeks as she realized it hadn't taken him long to notice. She tried to pull her hand away but he held it tight and raised his eyebrow as if asking her how she got the wound. She simply shook her head. He felt the guilt double in his heart. If only she had let him in the kitchen... oh well, he thought, he would soon be well and then he would never let her alone whether she liked it or not. Gently he made her sit beside him and reached out to his bedside table drawer where he had his first aid kit.

Rubbing the boil softly, he blew on it as if to reduce the burn. He then took the ointment and gently put it on the wound. With his long fingers, he gently started to carress the wound, massaging the ointment into it. She shut her eyes tightly and tried to clamp down the knots that had formed at the pit of her stomach. His breath fanning on her hands as he bent over it evoked desires in her she never knew existed. She didn't know whether it was the wound that stung or his fingers trailing over them. Her mind conjured up a vivid image of them trailing elsewhere and she let out a moan.

He looked up to see her all flushed and breathing heavily. His heart did a somersault as it dawned to him that he was the reason for her current state. He felt his fingers itch to wander all over her. Knowing that if he didn't stop now he wouldn't be able to ever, he quickly withdrew his hand. As they lost contact, she snapped to reality and opened her eyes. Unable to meet his gaze, she took the glass and rushed to the kitchen. He smiled seeing her run away and a tiny glimmer of hope crept into his devoted heart. Someday.... maybe someday.... his hands would trail all over her...
