I didn't watch the epi but the discussion here had me go from 'how' to 'wow' moment right after each posts.
Firstly, a big hug and a deep sense of veneration for my girlies for making me proud with their perspectives and opinions. This is the true progressive society that India wanted to see and even if your numbers are less now, the future chances are bright. Ameen to that!
And then the how moment. Like how? How can women think such things about other women? Not only Anupama even Rups tirelessly pleaded for women to come along and pull each other together and not try to push back. But she herself got the judgement so who are we!
Sach hai 'Aurat hi aurat ki dushmaan hoti hai'
Right after celebrating women's day with all pompus, if we are being back to age-shaming body-shaming a woman the next day then what was the use of it? Of anything?
A lot of the regressive opinions shared here were (as I feel) based on a derogatory feeling of 'if not me then how can she?' This is the major roadblock for women and it will continue to be if we don't change our mentality.
Instead it should be 'If not me, then atleast let her be'
