the feminine gaze is the same as the male gaze. Essentially, men have always derived the pleasure of appreciating the feminine form, body, etc whereas you rarely see the perspective of a female enjoying the male form or mannerisms. It’s always a man seeing and enjoying the sight of a woman doing things like combing her hair, or doing little things, sometimes the camera pans over the physical features of that female (hair, lips, eyes, waist etc). It’s all to be seen in the view of a male perspective. From the beginning of time.

Yet, it’s really empowering if, for once, that same action was given to a female. To normalize the fact that women also appreciate and enjoy viewing the male form and their actions. that women feel a variety of thought and emotion. I think this is why those British classics, which spend pages describing the character and features of a male from a female’s POV are timeless and enjoyed. They were revolutionary in their own way
