Wonderful post, as always, Sunny
Honestly I don’t know where to begin with this epi. Probably best I just go with a stream of conscious …
- Pakhi is a brat. Her reasoning is so circular and without purpose. She feels “inexperienced,” “inadequate,” and “unworldly.” Okay, say we give her a free ticket to travel, infinite funds, basically the world - would she know what to do with it? Could she truly process her experience and emotions? I think not. Her emotional capacity is severely limited and hugely self-centered. Honestly, she’s still very much a child and while I say experiences allow us to grow as change is constant, the good and bad is necessary, and we should go out on a limb … I think this girl really wouldn’t get it. She’s also super sensitive and very coddled … putting herself out there is an extreme challenge. Let’s not forget she “needs help to get dressed by her Mummy” who she also finds to be old-fashioned, out-dated, and homely. She’s embarrassed by her mom a majority of the time. She’s honestly so callous and demeaning … and I don’t see it as her terrible twos or angsty teens. She’s simply a brat
- Kavya … goodness, I avoid getting into the real actors frame of mind BUT really? Really? Was she trying to give an audition, re-bag her role … it literally felt like she was trying to remarket, rebrand, and sell herself 😒😒 Also, her eyebrows weren’t like Sharpie marker drawings today 🤣🤣 so it causes me to think 2 things … 1) why does she think her marker eyebrows are attractive? Has she seen Mr. Potato from Toy Story? 2) what product is she using bc I legit thought they were tattooed 🤣🤣
3) I stayed away from the entire discussion about domestic violence, abuse, and harassment. I don’t want to share my views on the scenes and I honestly don’t expect this medium, at least with how iTV has been post EK, to do justice to any social commentary. At least in the evolved, multi-episode, deep way these topics require. Anyway, I’m astonished by Mukku. Confused and disappointed regarding her attachment or camaraderie to V 🤢 if she cares for Anu, even an iota, she would not be interacting with V the way she has. Their professional alliance has been made, she won’t just break it, but I don’t really need to see them sharing personal space and shoving Rasgulla’s down his throat. But then again I think … he has no balls so why not Rasgullas. He’s also submitting to Mukku, yes for an alternative purpose, so he’s going to let himself be subdued by a dominant Mukku. She is the balls in their dynamic currently. Hopefully one day soon, Anu and Anuj can show V that theirs is bigger.
-Okie, I tried using a euphemism in the last sentence or two kyunki I don’t want to corrupt anyone 😬 but I also felt uncomfy bc this friend dialogue of VaniKa was overheard by MaAn. MaAn know within their own minds, Anu internally and Anuj vocally, that they are more than bffs. This line of Mal’s is a major alarm 🤡 unfortunately, Anuj is wrecked by his emotions and kinda bad when it comes to interacting with Adult-Mukku, so I don’t see him asserting himself directly. It’ll most likely be his soulmate doing the work.
- last but not least, V. I feel like I see more of him than anyone else. Please, someone, direct the Lion to the jungle. Bechara Mumbai sets mein ghum hogaya 🤪 His fired up gaze has returned. It makes me feel as if something will happen. Anu has left breadcrumbs that she’s going to step in at some point (it’s also her serial, her story … just in case writers forgot) but I wonder what. I don’t think it’ll be Anuj witnessing V’s ghatiyapan to Anu, he’s seen it already … I think it’ll be a perfect storm, V, K, & VaniKa with Rakhi adding ghee 😐
S/n: why in the world is the coffee machine/café in the VaniKa area? There’s no Switzerland in this office building? 😵
Let’s see what happens
