It’s so nice of you to try to be neutral/unbiased. Good review, Pri! Today’s episode is bearable and I liked that V got flashbacks of his mental torture on Anu. Honestly I would be fine if V would be genuinely remorseful and apologized to Anu for all his past misdeeds - even better if the apology is in front of everyone. This is called restorative justice where the perpetrator takes responsibility for their crime and the victim goes through the process of healing. In that case, I liked your theory of why the makers may have included V in the scene. V is also shown to be asking for Kavya but his concern didn’t show enough. In fact, SP isn’t convincing enough like everyone said. It bothers me to see that V is considered as a good human being without even him apologizing to Anu. Even Kavya deserves an apology for being treated like shit. Also, when Anu was fighting to get divorced, she remembered all the mental torture she went through in her marriage. It is so unlikely but if the makers are so bound to make V the so-called hero, at least make him bearable for the viewers.
Also, I don’t understand how Anu can be so okay with venting about physical and mental abuse with V right in front of her. Perhaps, the makers wanted to show that Anu has been healed and truly moved on, and she is being nice to V for the sake of the family, but the whole scene looked so insensitive. I do liked the dialogues of MaAn though and I appreciate the makers for trying to educate the audience about abuse and seeking professional help as much as they could within their limitations. The past couple of episodes were draining for sure and I get that the makers wanted to move on, but couldn’t they show that some days have passed? Waise bhi inki timeline ki band baji hui hai…
For my sanity, I’d enjoy MaAn and take the storyline with a pinch of salt. I’ve been watching Anupamaa since the beginning, so my tolerance level has increased. Btw it’s funny how Anuj is all happy and chill with V. Guess that’s also a reason why V was included in the DV scenes, so that Anuj starts trusting V only to fall flat on his face, which is very soon and all credit goes to Anu and Mukku for trusting that chameleon V. Lastly, the Shahs are bearable and Pakhi didn’t create a scene about Anu not coming, which is a nice and welcoming change.
And I miss MaAn cute moments and Anuj in his happy mode. I also miss the smart business man, Anuj, who I hope comes back with the upcoming kaand. I can see MaAn and Mukku band bajaoing V when the latter breaks their trust in their business. Btw talking about professional help, I know it’s too much to ask but I do want Anu to think about talking to a counsellor if she and Anuj take Mukku to professional help. Anu did that for Pakhi so why not Mukku? And why can’t Anu talk to a counsellor as well? Maybe then we can know why and how she is so normal and friendly around V.
That’s all for now! I’ll comment again if I remember anything.
