Is the show trying to gaslight us by having Anupamaa say things like that?

Freakin Vanraj Shah who menacingly walks towards his wives in arguments.. Certainly uses the threat of physical violence to tame his women despite being a Bhai. He put his wife through the trauma of an unwanted pregnancy. Indulged in financial, emotional, and mental abuse galore. His mother threatens to slap his wives everyday, and 'villains' like Toshu & Kavya are the only people to find it odd.

Really, Anupamaa? Tumhare sath aisa kuch nahi hua? Please bring back Devika to call this character out on her $h!t. Rightfully said, Anupamaa jitni progressive hai usse zada regressive hai.

For them to reel the average-Indian-woman audience in with 'relatable' financial/emotional/mental abuse.. Only to negate it a year later. THE AUDIENCE IS IN AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP WITH THIS SHOW! 🤡

I found it off that makers showed those clips and then gave anu dialogues as if nothing had happened at all. Implying that the makers remember about her trauma and are choosing to ignore it (I just expected them to forget and then add dialogues later on in response to the audiences reaction tbh - writing has been so weak lately I wouldn't be surprised🤡)

Just disappointing how this show masks itself as progressive but spews the same regressive bs over and over again. Vanraj is conveniently not punished bc he has a family and kids and is the lead antagonist but ofc we can all hate on Mukku's husband cause he's not connected to the story and won't need to be whitewashed later 🤔

Also - what's the reference to the unwanted pregnancy? I used to watch on and off so can't recall

Anu got married too young, and was clearly overwhelmed with the household & motherhood. She wanted to stop after two kids but Vanraj wanted a daughter. So he forced her into it and they luckily had Pakhi. Else they would have had more 🤡

Watch the episode when Anu gets kicked out by Vanraj and Devika takes her to her home.

@bold - That is what I find odd as well. They are reminding us and then make her deliver dialogues that V is a good guy after all! oh, btw.... those clips were just the tip of the iceberg and I feel that V had metted out much worse than those.😕

When Anupamaa recalled the incidents with Mukku, Kinjal and Pakhi that’s what Anupamaa saying hasn’t happened to her. Those incidents like that. Hence she saying it hasn’t happened to her.

Anupamaa flashback was her recalling her panic attack cos Vanraj shouted at her and closed the bedroom door on her. She had a panic attack and wept in the corner outside the house and Devika found her hence saying I’m not going inside the house.

I think that flashback was to show us that Anupamaa had a panic attack so she kinda knows Mukku is having those same, and the trauma she suffered when she found out about V and Kavya. It’s wasn’t to show Oh Anupamaa suffered the same level as Mukku did cos she didn’t esp Physically.

Anupamaa was content with two kids but Vanraj wanted a girl so they had a girl. She wasn’t forced but she agreed to it. She just mentioned in the talk with Devika how she has given this house her all and making everyone and Vanraj happy etc.

What Anupamaa went through was emotional and mental abuse. Not physical nor was it sexual.

Not the ones Mukku or Kinjal and Pakhi went through is what Anupamaa meant when she said she hasn’t gone through that. Anupamaa didn’t have beatings, wasn’t sexually molested or kidnapped and blackmailed.

k but when someone is in the middle of a crisis, most people try not to make it about them. so maybe that's why she said that ? i think she knows what she went thru...

Did the writers forget the scene where Vanraj was about to hit Anu and then she stopped him??
