Is a famous dialogue from the show 'Grey's anatomy' that always stayed with me. 'He/she hit you not because you are not worthy but because no one stopped them', Period!!! Domestic violence is seeped ankle deep in our patriachal system for decades now. Marital rape and abuse never make for dinner conversations but the silence and scars of every home maker is loud enough to scream her truth in the deafening silence. Keeping the sensitivity and its significance in mind I will not use this topic as a discussion for entertainment. If there are any abuse survivors here who are reading this and all you need is to talk, I am here! You can send me a private msg or share your story, whatever feels right🤝🦸♀️👭💜💜
Moving to the episode, I will say it was not very triggering. The 3 min promo clip was strong, raw and nerve wrecking but makers spread out the raging instensity with the silly shahs. 🙄
Anuj and anu desperately try to reach Mukku who locks herself in the room and is having a traumatic episode. They manage to somehow get to her and Anuj's reaction was the most natural reflex any loved one would experience. He felt sick to his stomach and nauseated. I have never seen this in another show. The men are usually macho and take up the unsaid job of being someone's 'saviour' but the truth is no one is trained to react to trauma. So I applaud the writers in keeping the screenplay theatrical yet realistic.👏👏🙌
Anu finds Mukku's meds and Anuj is as shocked as she is to learn the truth of her 'Depression'. The inclusion of this mental health monster is reason enough to convey the viewers the extent of abuse and sears still fresh!😭😭 the narrative that follows from Anuj is compelling enough to make you want to strangle the person responsible for this. They say when you are hurt, you feel pain coz you have a wound and then your body makes a beautiful scar to remind you the battles you fought bravely but also whispers to you 'was it worth it?'😔😔 Anuj's scars from his guilt are as fresh and deep as Mukku's. Everytime her wounds hurt, his scars rip apart reminding him of his grave mistake in judgement. The remainder epi states many facts of domestic abuse that we already know but are we really consciously aware?? Each one of us will have to someday face this truth coz today its your neighbor, house help, teacher, friend's mom..tomorrow its our mothers, sisters and friends and one day its going to be YOU.. I was 9 years old when I threw boiling milk and hit my mom's abuser with the same pan. Strength doesnt find you in noise, it holds you by your spine in the silent whisper that says "This will not be my story" .This epi leaves you with an after taste of shame, guilt, helplessness and most imp rage!!
Precap- Can someone in their right mind explain as to why Vanraj was a witness to this? The makers obsession to shove him in every storyline is disturbing and annoying at this point. I understand its for him to use this as a trump card to play his dirty game but they could have kept him away from this track atleast and most amusing fact, he is a abuser himself. I will no longer be surprised if they use him to heal Anuj and mukku🤦♀️🤦♀️
Verdict- its watchable for everyone. It may make you uncomfortable, it may make you think but will not shatter you. This was an Aneri show all the way. Rups and Gaurav were good but Aneri outshined them!! I definitely see a pakhi and anu strained relation track coming. Pakhi might be insecured in Mukku's presence but plz makers dont do the whole K adding fuel to this. Thats getting passe and stale now.🙄😏
Let me know what you guys think of today's epi🤗
