Hello to all my friends here, hope you all had a great Christmas evening!! Thank you all for tagging me, will definitely read them up once am back. I have managed to catch up with some of the imp scenes of episodes in insta and have been reading some of the discussions when I could. Based on them I wanted to post some of my thoughts as it's Sunday and a very cold Chilli night here at a small village in Himachal. The temp is -14 here. Am sitting beside a tandoor and writing my 3 cents.
First, writers why is your writing getting lazy?? I understand that you want to test a character sketch but that does not mean that you will introduce with a almost negative arch and then suddenly make it a in-between positive arch. This gives a sense of disconnect to a viewer like me and leads to multiple assumptions. You started Malvika’s sketch as negative and then you made her an in-between sort of character. Testing audience reaction is OK, but do maintain your consistency level as such.
Coming to the title of my summation of thoughts - with the entry of Malvika, the other two members who are directly effected are Anuj and Vanraj. HENCE the 3 points of my triangle are Anuj, Vanraj, and Malvika. My star is Anu as this is her journey and her story.
Coming to Anuj, he has always been shown as a strong person. A successful man who has made a life for himself. How world are GK and Anu. He was perfect in every sense. Now , we have come to know that this man has secrets. He has a sister and he has survivor guilt in him. He feels responsible for what had happened with his parents and he has hidden that pain since that incident had happened. He also feels responsible for his sister, who has faced her share of traumas. A person in guilt will often feel that he does not deserve to be fully happy. I wonder if this is the reason that he is not fully accepting that Anu also has fallen in love with him?? He definitely has sensed that she has changed, she has feelings as he too has crossed his boundary In a way and holds her hand, shares feelings with her more openly and so on. Him being vulnerable with Anu was beautiful as he thinks of her as his own, however I wonder whether his guilt will become a hindrance to his own love story as its clear that his sister is his deepest weakness.
MALVIKA, is a manipulative, unpredictable, attention seeker, I want things my way sort of a person. I am not sure whether she will be a cupid or an hindrance yet, however she is a person who always wants that center of attention. She knows that her brother loves her a lot, she knows that her brother is full of guilt, still she manipulates him and gets annoyed so much so that she leaves the house. This clearly says that she is used to getting her way. Her parents and her brother let her be that way and hence her traits. She also has faced trauma in the sense that her secure blanket, her parents, are no more. She has not communicated openly with her brother, instead she ran away when things got tough. She does not want to face the lingering issues as then she will become vulnerable.
It's said that communication is the key to resolving any issues. Both brother and sister have not sat and spoken about their trauma, their issues as both are in a way scared. Until this happens their relation will not become normal. Running away is not a solution to anything at all and I hope atleast Anuj realizes this soon.
VANRAJ Shah is also a manipulative person. He is an opportunist. His motive to keep Malvika at his house right now might not be bad but later on he might utilize Malvika’s vulnerable nature towards her brother. Interesting aspect is that both Mal and V are manipulative beings and are used to getting things their way. Let's see how these both fair in the business as partners. She is still immature which is very much visible and I feel she does not want to get mature. Just so that everyone's attention is on her, she acts in this manner.
Last, our dear Anu. She is a person who always always puts others first. She is never her priority. She is compassionate, love, honest, sympathetic, empathetic, understanding, non judgemental mostly, and most importantly her loved ones problem is her problem. I too did not like the fact that he did his sister's existence from her, here the script related facts really failed me. She still stood by him and stated that she will stand no matter what. A lady whose trust was betrayed is trusting again and willing to take on another challenge named Malvika. She is known to sacrifice and here I hope Anuj realizes this and does not allow her to make any sacrifices for the sake of his sister. She had a tough past and she will do anything for the person she loves. Her first love was more or less out of duty, but now she loves out of choice. ANUJ is her choice and I hope he does prove worth it now.
If writers have to show parallels then Anuj has to stand beside her even if it means standing against his sister. And we all know that Anu herself I'd capable of stepping back if need be. We also know that Anu will take Malvika under her wing and resolve issues between the brother and sister.
Writers, you will need to delve carefully as you have stepped into a sensitive messy track. We dont want Anu to suffer more. We want Anuj to value her when the situations play against him or them.
All other characters are anyways a filler now. Kavya getting her karma is yet to be seen.
Relations are most of the times complex. It depends on the folks to keep it simple. Lets see how MaAn keeps their relation intact and simple!! ❤️
