I haven't seen any of the serials mentioned. Ya shayad timepass main dekha hoga that i can't recall any character..
To be honest, for me its not just about Anuj.. its how GK enacts, brings this character to life, his eyes speaks 1000 emotions and hits your dil directly dil se.
have read about such characters in book but never got this much emotionally connected probably because of lack of imagination. Like when we read or write OS we mentally imagine GK, thats where the difference comes.
I agree the character sketch is good by writers but for me the credit goes all out to GK only.
I agree with you word by word. Its GK's acting that he brings character to life and one of the reasons we crave and ask to you all amazig writers for OS all the time coz we can imagine GK's acting.
And he is not confined to a single genre of emotions. He can act all emotions very well, be it romantic fierce funny mature or naughty
Purab from Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi
Rajveer from Left Right Left
Vikram from Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye

this is the biggest fault of itv i will say and this is why i loose hope!!!
G & “losing hope” don’t seem to go together 😆
I really like jassi Jaisi koi nahin… the opening credits got me every time 😆 such an era of tele .. it was def better than the American version & I only got through part of the original Mexican version before Netflix removed it.
It’s interesting but a lot of solid male characters are either killed off, stuck in second lead, or are made from the ashes of the ML in “angry young man” stage (y’kno in some serials post-leap when the story is reset).
the absolute worst is when good make entries get a shitty track to make them grey and vampy bc writers don’t wanna mess with a standing couple. i don't mind seeing soul mates come at different periods and stages of life - it’s a good aspect of life to depict. We need to see that some relationships can’t be fixed. That we don’t have to settle bc of what society deems acceptable. On a minor tangent - there are a ton of shows airing currently where the ML leaves much to be desired but a substantial male entry is dragged through the mud to be even lamer bc the concept is “yes, this situation with ML sucks but it could be worse.” Uhm, no 😆

let me say I eventually loose hope on the writers after giving them some 10000000 chances!!! LOL
you're absolutely right...i mean there must be tons of other characters over the years that were similar that we cant recall, but the way Gaurav plays Anuj. It's like magic. pure magic. he just touches your heart every time. i noticed that even in some scenes, he'll add like a sniffle and its just makes it so much more human like...like the scene where he saves samar and kaka is driving them to samar's house and he talks talking to samar in the backseat...if you re-watch that scene, you'll see what i mean. like this guy is so so so talented.
yup, some of his most powerful scenes are when he isnt saying anything at all. but you can read every emotion across his face...
These days Anupama is showing off by remembering Anuj. But the truth is Anuj was ruined by Anupama. Dear Anupama, I hear that you remember me...
