“woh meri kabhi nahin ho sakti..” taking his glasses off to wipe another one of the many rounds of warm tears, Anuj plonked his head on the foot end of his bed and sighed with sheer dismay.

Watching her talk to Vanraj that afternoon had broken him completely...he was now convinced that he had no future with Anu. Though he’d never really had any expectations of a typical love story to bloom between them, he felt strangely betrayed, a feeling he couldn’t rid himself of and one that he’d painfully have to live with from now on.

“maine unke saath bohot galat kiya hai ” gulping down her remorseful tears Anupama reflected upon the exhausting events of the past few weeks that had shaken her immensely but he had tirelessly been by her side in each of her fights and struggles His undying support and his selfless gestures saw her through the most difficult time of her life...

He had been nothing short of a blessing to her and she felt repulsive and ungrateful to have taken him for granted. However unintentional, her foolishness and ignorance must have hurt him...

...and now she wanted to set things right!

have written half of the first part already, will finish and post it tomorrow hopefully. ab aisi hi manohar stories ka hi sahara hai, show se toh almost sabne break liya hua hai😑 I’m so bored with the current track that even the funny isnt so funny anymore, hope we can get through this ‘phase’ somehow.

Part 1:

“Anuj beta tune toh kabhi iss rishte se koi ummeed nahi rakkhi thi, toh ab udaas kyu ho raha hai?” asked GK hoping he could make Anuj feel better

“jaanta hoon kaka, ummeed toh nahi thi par jab Anu ne meri dosti accept ki toh naa chaahte hue bhi mai ummeed karne laga, mujhe pata tha ye sahi nahi hoga par mera dil kehta tha ke shayad kisi din Anu ka mann badal jaaye aur wo bhi mujhse pyaar karne lage...”

Feeling dejected Anuj didnt know how he would face Anupama in the office tomorrow. He had promised to be her support in all her struggles but her ongoing personal issues had taken a toll on him and their relationship. He was never one to complain and would keep supporting her selflessly but when it came to Anu’s relation with her ex husband, Anuj felt a little insecure and perhaps even a tad jealous. He didn't know why he felt that way when Anu had severed all her ties with Vanraj but the recent happenings were making Anuj uncomfortable and he was embarrassed to share his feelings with GK.

“Anupama aur Vanraj ke beech sirf unka parivar aur bacche hai Anuj aur kuch nahi” amazed at how well GK could read him, Anuj turned to GK and dug his face in his lap to find solace.

“Anu ka saath hi mere liye bohot hai kaka...par kyu mujhe usey Vanraj ke saath dekh kar aaj jalan si hui? aisa mehsoos hua jaise ki mujhse kuch cheen raha ho, Anu toh meri kabhi thi hi nahi phir kyu mujhe usey khone ka darr sataa raha hai?”

Trying to figure out his feelings, Anuj stared at GK to get his advice but he looked blank like he wanted Anuj to work this out by himself.

“mujhe lagta hai ki aisa karke mai Anu aur apni dosti ki insult kar raha hoon, jaise mai usey koi dhokha de raha hoon, mujhe aisa nahi feel hona chahiye na kaka?”

knowing the difficult maze that Anuj was trapped in, GK pacified him saying “thoda waqt de beta..usko aur khudko, sab thik ho jayega”

“maine toh saari zindagi uska saath dene ka vaada kiya hai kaka, bina kuch badle mein maange, mujhe apne vaade ka maan rakhna hoga kaka...rakhna hoga...” he tried to convince himself.

Trying to console an almost sobbing Anuj GK said “tune kuch galat nahi kiya hai Anuj, apne aap ko dosh dena bandh kar aur ab sone ki koshish kar, tujhe kal subah jaldi nikalna hai...”

Hoping the insecurity was a passing feeling, Anuj gathered his thoughts and reasoned himself to sleep wishing to be free of the nagging guilt.

“Anu tu bohot badi gadhi hai yaar” said Devika irritatedly...

Sitting by the stairs of her new house, Anupama had a heart to heart with Devika who had just returned from her business trip to Mumbai, Anuj had sent her to fill in for him as he didn't want to leave Anupama alone when she needed him the most.

“tune na apni mahaanta ki beemari Anuj ko bhi dedi, tujhe pata bhi hai Anuj ne itni badi meeting skip kardi? kyun? kyuki usey tere sath rehna tha! I just don’t get you both, aisa pyaar kaun karta hai yaar?

Devika knew she had to be harsh to make her naive friends realise how deeply invested they were in each other.

“mujhe pehle hi itna bura lag raha hai Devika aur tu ye sab kehke mujhe aur doshi bana rahi hai” Anu was already reeling with regret and Devika just made it a lot worse.

“doshi toh tu hai Anu, aur galti bhi tune bohot badi ki hai, mere bolne ya na bolne se Anuj ka pyaar tere liye kam nahi ho jayega”

when Anuj had told Devika about their ‘dosti se zyada aur pyaar se kam ‘ deal, she instantly knew that Anu was only trying to buy time to understand her feelings else she would never have given him hope by not giving him any hope. Their unique relationship was as complex as that.... Perhaps she was wrong to judge her but knowing Anu, she knew she always needed to be pushed over the edge, thats how Anu was.

“Anu tu Anuj se chahti kya hai? aur ye na kehna ke Anuj ke liye uska ek tarfa pyaar hi kaafi hai”

Devika paused for a bit to give Anu time to process what she just said to knock some much needed sense into her ignorant friend.

It wasn’t the first time she was doing this, neither would it be the last she thought and continued “kyuki honestly agar tum dono ko ye dosti dosti wala game khelna hai toh usse bada koi duffer nahi aur tujhse bada koi bewakoof loser nahi jo aise mindblowing pyaar ko accept na kare...”

“Devika!“ Anu rebuked her ...she’d always been uneasy to talk about love and Anuj in the same sentence.

“maine tujhe pehle bhi kaha hai aur ab phir keh rahi hoon, Anuj ke pyaar ko mai samajhti hoon aur uska bohot sammaan bhi karti hoon par mujhse dubara pyaar nahi ho payega” as painful and hopeless as she sounded Anu wished to believe otherwise...

“par kyun Anu? pyaar dubara kahan hua jab tune Vanraj se kabhi pyar kiya hi nahi.” bang came the first blow to Anu’s conscience.

“Anu tu jise pyaar samajh rahi hai na, wo sirf tera rishta tha jise tune poori imaandaari se nibhaya, tune toh kabhi pyaar kiya hi nahi Anu..”

Sowing the seed of doubt to clear Anu’s misconceptions on her unrequited love, Devika knew she was on the right track when she watched Anu zone in and out of her perplexing thoughts...

“Anu tu jo ye bura feel kar rahi hai na, wo guilt nahi actually tera pyaar hai Anuj ke liye” slowly but surely Devika made good use of Anu’s guilt to guilt trip her into realising she was indeed falling for Anuj...though quite unconventionally...

She knew she had hit the nail on the head when Anu went completely mum and drifted deep into her thoughts...

Devika’s words had struck a chord with her...

Was she in denial? she wondered...

The fragile yet strong wall that she’d built around herself over the years didn't allow her to be honest with herself or to understand that she is capable and deserving of true love, the kind Anuj bore in his heart for years.

A big sorry for not posting last night, was feeling a little under the weather and went to bed super early...and I havent watched todays episode yet nor have I read any posts...

Just wanted to thank you all for the comments on the teaser...hope this update isnt quite flat as the episodes these days...please let me know your thoughts...see you in the next update...
