Why hasn’t anyone talked about Bapuji today?🤔

It’d be very interesting to know what you guys think of his emotional breakdown, it did make me feel for him.

What does the Akhand Jyot signify according to you?

I guess it was ok... I started to loose hope and respect when he emotionally blackmailed Anupama to stay in that mad house. I have completely lost all hopes on that bhoomi pujan day it self.

As I said that day, If my father would have heard anyone shaming me he would have lost his all cool. But Bapuji just giving him silent treatment just was not helpful again.

If he was a little more aggressive... sigh...

but this indirect taunting and silent treatment and not eating meds just doesn't work...

I was not impressed but i expected it though... nothing out of ordinary

He would have gained extra points in my eyes if he just once slapped vanraj... wishful thinking... i know...

That plot point will be forgotten even before we know, and brought back only when writers want to make anything dramatic

I totally agree. He would have gotten respect from me if he had slapped his uncontrolable wife and threatened to throw her out. Leela should be controlled and every one else would have controlled automatically

He could have done a better job crying… I was not convinced 🤔 maybe it was me.

I think he was trying to say to the evil ones that they will feel the loss of Anupama at a later stage and that’s when they will realise her worth as he knew her true worth. But perhaps if he spoke up sooner things wouldn’t have reached this point!

When I saw Vanraj with the medicine box, I thought he was trying to work out which one Bapu-Ji needs to take! Also for a split second when Pakhi was coming down the stairs she seemed ok and then it was like… oh! Just remembered my mum left the house…. I would have liked to seen a bit more attitude from Pakhi to Vanraj. Her mom left the house because of their accusations!

Also when Bapu-Ji was distressed and Crying, Baa did not console him or even put a gentle hand on his shoulder to support him. His daughter had left and despite her views of her, her husband needed support….. or perhaps like me she was not convinced by his tears 🥲

Baapuji has health issues. When he reacted in anger he fell grievously Ill necessitating a surgery.

Ladla was making out with Kavya and missing from home. The onus of managing the situation fell on Anupama.

Leela couldn't think straight Paritosh wanted to wait for Papa but hospital insisted immediate action. Anupama took her first independent decision and saved Baapujis live. He felt beholden to her!

The idiots were blasting her and when she realised that despite having a car without Ladla it was useless she requested Kinjal to teach her driving much to the chagrin of the idiots.

Baapuji temperamentally is like Anupama a Giver resorting to actions for peace. He has been a pacifist. He realised he cannot handle rage. So he stays calm to not increase the burden on Anupama

After the EMA expose he threw Ladla out. Wanted him away even after the accident. Leelas Moh for her Ladla and Anupama s generosity kept the guy back.

He has respected and treated all well be it Rakhi, Kavya or Leela.

Not everyone goes around throwing their weight threatening sitar playing to all and sundry. Leela and Ladla are poles apart from him. Had Anupama been like Leela the family would have disintegrated long ago.

His error in judgement in keeping Anupama back I agree . His stance was was one tie had snapped why should Anupama forgo her other ties? May appear selfish yet he did not foresee what ensued.

He has looked at Anupama and treated her as his daughter always. He is not an abuser like Leela or Ladla so he doesn't go about slapping or screaming at them.

He has pointed out to Leela at every stage that she is wrong and will face a fall. It has always fallen on deaf ears. After the Bhoomi pooja he apologized to GK. Responded with folded hands to Vanraj yet it evoked 0 remorse in Leela and Ladla as they are habituated in aggression and can only understand folks like Rakhi or Kavya.

His silence, his folded hands, his unstinted support to Anupama is understood by Devika and Samar. At other times we find it convenient to say Devika is our voice. We however forget that Devika considers Baapuji treating Anupama well and being her chief cheer leader! It was he hat sought out Devika to speak to Anupama to accept the partnership offer.

Baapuji with folded hands apologised for holding Anupama caged in a pinjra. He meant it . He felt guilty.

He apologized for being weak, unable to take a stronger stance against Leela and Ladla he meant it.

He prayed that Anupama s tormentors will suffer and go pleading to her he meant it!

He is not an Alpha male, he is not a man of wealth. The success of Ladla as a provider has made him and his mother arrogant. Baapuji is a man of values. A simple man with simple ways, A gem of a man that suffers with Anupama in her pain and tries to in private offer her the care and kindness she deserves.

Paritosh in his tirade how he was ashamed of them all, blames he is not classy and his PJs are a shame. Samar finds him a cool Dude, Devika finds him a gem and GK feels an instant connect and that he doesn't deserve a son like Ladla. Anupama finds him the father figure in her life.

Baapuji genuinely feels that he was responsible for Anupama's suffering. He is heartbroken after he sent her out. Prayers are his way of seeking her strength! The incantation with the chants hopes to awaken the dormant Shakthi in her to move on,

In the worship of the feminine power during Navratri and Dhanteras(happens to be today) folks personify Sakthi as the flame of a diya. By keeping it lit through the night they invoke the blessings the energy is my understanding of the Akanda deep. We light in in our home on Dhanteras.

Baapuji calls Anupama as the provider the embodiment of wealth when he does her gruhapravesh as Beti after Vanya's wedding. Now saying it will remain lit till the Tamashah house Idiots atone is his way of evoking revenge on Anupamas detractors.

Just my 2 cents in response to the tag.

I don't have any sympathy for Bapuji. He had 26 years and highest authority in the house to change things but he never did.

He himself knows that Vanraj and Baa, listens to him if he is angry but what he did when Anu was publicly humiliated - her character was questioned nothing at all. They say na, silence just encourages crime.

The only he has kept repeating Samaj is this and Samaj is that. Samaj starts at your own house.

Even now, when he himself knows that Anu would be much much happier out of Shah house but no- he is throwing another tantrum. The diya is part of the scheme.

Diya might for Anu's return- Like paro did in devdas.

Leela was never gonna be controlled by Bapuji, its just how their relationship works.

Bapuji has a habit of sulking and venting after everything...his anger is fizzled out and he looks silly giving gyaan that negates the very issue in question.
