It's true though!
Girls who watch their mothers tolerating toxic relationships (like Anu's relationships with Vee and baa) are far more likely to end up in such relationships themselves...
The fact that Pankhi thinks that Baa's treatment of Anu, and worse still Vee's betrayal are no big deal should make Anu all the more worried for her future...
Come to think of it, it is extremely odd that Anu and Vanraj have three kids, but as of yet their highly toxic marriage doesn't seem to have affected how any of them handle their own romantic relationships... If you look from one angle though, Toshu's slavish devotion to Rakhi Dave (no matter how much she insults his family and him) could be a direct emulation of Anu's attitude to Baa...
But strangely no one ever mentions that side of it because it would take the focus away from Anu's eternal mahanta and prove that though she undoubtedly cares a lot for her kids, she may have made some mistakes with the values she imparted to them...
Yes, you are right. With Pakhi's case - rather than Anu, Vanraj's values have imprinted on her. She and Toshu both grew up watching Vanraj berating Anu - and it is quite evident in their behaviour as well. Toshu baby's recent demands are being fulfilled by Anu - so he is kinda staying low.
I have mentioned this quite a lot times, that Pakhi not taking EMA seriously should be a red alert to Anu. She is teen and many teens are already on stage to start a relationship. Anu is nowhere near a practical mother - there are many flaws in her parenting. Her pampering and spoonfeeding them is just the very first ones. The list is quite long.
As you said, they kinda want to make Anu flawless so even though these are a crucial point for family drama. They will never address it. Because then Anu will be at fault and her Mahanta will be questioned. I am not worried about Pakhi, the person in more concern at this point is Kinjal. Because she will be soon in training to be a doormat. Thankfully she doesn't lack a backbone, although makers will portray her having one as lack of sanskar.
Anu tolerating Baa in every aspect is just encouragement. She has already dug enough insults for herself but her not accepting Baa wrongdoings - will only create problems for Kinjal. Pakhi is selfish enough, so I can't imagine her tolerating anything - let it be right or wrong. She will start throwing tantrums as she does now.
This Saas and Maa theory is incorrect, you don't have to be your DIL's maa to make right judgements. Even as MIL you can have the right values to be a good elder. Leela being MIL is not the problem, she herself as a person is a problem.
