thursday- Episode 285

Update for Friday, June 3, 2011:

Anu sees Nivedha and Adhi on the bike, tells the driver to stop and gets out. Adhi tries to explain, but she says they are not to meet again, unless he can get his father's approval for their marriage. RM is watching all this from his car (how did he know to come there at that exact moment?) Adhi sees him after Anu and Nivedha leave, RM pushes off.

RM goes home, his wife brings him some coffee, and what does our man do? He knocks it off to the ground, she has no idea what is going on. Shruthi also comes there and asks what happened. Mom has no idea, Adhi comes in and stops when he sees RM. RM says he saw Adhi with Nivedha, Adhi says he is definitely going to get married to Nivedha, and adds, with your consent. RM is furious, as usual.

Paati is doing arati and Balu and Meenakshi are standing there. Paati tells Balu to get the auto, he hesitates, she wants to know what is wrong, and he says they are worried about going over to see Shree, whether she will accept them, will she be okay since she has already been through so much mental agony over the kidnapping and Palli yelling at her. Paati tells them that Shree is very mature and she will take whatever they say in the right spirit. Balu has bought a sari for them to give Shree and they take this with them.

Gayathri is worried over their coming and Shrinivasan tells her not to worry. In the other room, Shreenath and Shree are talking to Adhi and Shruthi. Adhi asks if Prem had come there to see Shree, and Shree says she will never forgive Prem. Adhi says she will understand one day that he is a good person, Shruthi seconds this opinion, but Shree is not going to change her mind for them. Just then, the doorbell rings, and Gayathri opens the door to find Nivedha there. Nivedha goes to see Shree, hugs her, and then goes and sits on the couch next to Shruthi. Shruthi asks Nivedha to forgive her for the words she spoke to her in the past, and then adhi tells her to move so that she won't come between Nivedha and himself.

The bell rings again, this time it is Balu and Meenakshi, and Gayathri invites them in. She calls Shree and asks her to come down. Shree comes down, greets Paati, and then sits beside Meenakshi who hugs her and bursts into tears. Shree is puzzled over this.

Update for Tues, Jun 7, 2011:

Mechanic Karthik goes to Selva's house. He has an envelope in his hand. Outside, Gopi is returning home. He is moaning over the fact that he has to somehow find Rs. 1 lakh. He sees MK's bike outside his house (how can they afford to rent such a big house?), and thinks that he can ask MK for the money, but his daughter will not allow this. He decides to eavesdrop instead, hears MK telling Selva to keep an envelope containing Rs. 1 lakh (how did he get the exact amount?) for safe keeping. Apparently, it is the collection for the past week, as well as the money from the workshop, and he tells her to keep it in the bureau. She tells him she is afraid to keep so much money at home, and tells him to come early in the morning and deposit it in the bank. Gopi hides from MK's eyes and thinks that God is odaichifying the bureau and giving him money.

Karthi is walking up and down and thinking of Shree and his conversations with her (vera velai illiaye, idhuvaadhu seyyalaam!) and the letter she wrote. He calls Shreenath and tells him he wants to come and see Shree, but is hesitant. He would like to talk to her and apologize, so Shreenath says he will go and get her. When Shreenath goes to get her, she is praying so he does not disturb her and goes back to the phone and tells Karthi the same. Karthi decides to go and see her directly.

Karthi goes down and Palli stops him, Where are you going, why are you going, and so on. (I thought one wasn't supposed to ask such questions of a person going out, but such rules don't apply to Palli, obviously!) When he tells her he is going to see Shree, she decides to accompany him, because she thinks he will sodappufy when he talks to her (and she is so good at talking and explaining!). She says that RR told her not to go with Karthi, but she has decided to go with him (when does she ever listen to anyone? This woman is so annoying I just can't stand her and her arrogant behavior.)

Gayathri is in the kitchen. Shreenath comes and tells her about Karthi coming over. Shrinivasan says he will make them sit down and fix the date for the wedding and then they can tell RR and Palli. The bell rings, Karthi and Palli at the door. Shreenath invites them in (and the shameless Palli goes inside - has she forgotten all the language she has used in the past. Does she have even an ounce of shame in her body>?). Palli freely tells them also that RR told her that Karthi should meet Shree first, but since he was hesitating to meet Shree, she has decided to come with him (who cares about the husband, anyway? Definitely not, if it is Palli!) She asks if Shree knows everything, and Gayatri says, Yes (but does she know that Palli is the reason for her getting lost? No!) Gayatri sings Meenakshi mahatmyam, and then they call for Shree. Shree comes down, sees Karthi, and comes running towards him, with love and joy.

Wednesday 8th June 2011 Episode 289

Update for Thurs, Jun 9, 2011:

RR sits down beside a weeping Palli (those are crocodile tears, RR! Had Shree not been Selvi, would this arrogant woman have changed her mind?) Karthi tells him what actually happened, and Palli sobs again over why this should have happened and what will happen to Karthi's marriage now? Her mother consoles her that eventually everything will be okay and the marriage will take place (have you forgotten the simple matter about RR and his two wives coming to light if you arrange a marriage in this family?).

Gopi and the two guys in the police station. Gopi is cracking some jokes, saying that he doesn't know the two guys, then amending it to say he knows only one guy but the Inspector asked if he knew them both, he is an educated guy, he is a BA ... Fail! The Inspector fails to be amused, asks where he got the money from, did he steal it, Gopi admits that he got it from his SIL to be, the Inspector calls MK and asks him to come to the station.

MK goes to the station, and Gopi hides behind one of the guys. The inspector tells him not to hide like a woman, and Karthik agrees that it is his Mama, he is going to marry Gopi's daughter, and the Inspector tells him about the money doubling scheme. He says that Gopi was going to waste your hard earned money, and he wants to put him in jail, but MK says that he gave the money to Gopi. The Inspector knows that he is doing this to save Gopi and releases him anyway. MK takes him home, which he dreads because he knows he is going to get an earful from SR. He is grateful his wife is away.

MK takes Gopi home, and tells SR all. She is furious, says he could just as well have left him there and let him experience jail life. That may have straightened him. Gopi looks ashamed.

Update for Fri, Jun 10, 2011:

Gayathri boils milk, adds sugar and takes it upstairs to Shree (nalla devoted amma, I would have yelled out to them to come and get it! On the other hand, she is only a screen mother, doesn't have to do it all the time, nor does she have to clean her dishes!). RR also takes milk to Karthi on the bald upstairs. Both ask their children why they are going hungry, how long will they do it, RR tells Karthi that his mother was responsible for hurting Shree, and Gayathri tells Shree that it is very bad to not forgive a person asking for forgiveness, but instead wound them some more. Finally, both are advised to meet and talk about it, both say they are trying to forget the other, and both end up not drinking the milk (maadikku kondu ponadhu thaan michham!)

Anu's house - Nivedha gets a phone call, she goes to her room, closes the door and answers, thinking it is Adhi. Actually, it is some other friend of hers, but Anu has heard the name Adhi, so she goes to the door and eavesdrops. Santhosh sees her eavesdropping, tells her that it is wrong, Nivedha comes out, asks if she was eavesdropping, Anu asserts her maternal rights, Nivedha says that no matter what, she is going to marry Adhi and if he marries someone else, she won't be alive. Manju also joins the fray, Santhosh slaps her for being the one to tattle on him, Anu hits Nivedha, basically a free for all (what a dysfunctional household!). Manju tells Anu to call Daddy, Anu says don't tell him all this, he is already mind broken (manasu udainju irukkaar!) thanks to Santhosh, don't tell him all this and make him more nondhufied. She wrings her hands in despair (adhu oNNU thaan unakku theriyum, why don't you insist on your wonderful hubby doing some of his share of parenting? The reason your family is like this is because of your hubby's double dealing).

Gopi is walking down a street when he sees Palli talking with someone. He stops, greets Palli, she asks him why he doesn't come to her house any more, he says he is looking for a job, some of his business ventures (like blackmailing!) failed. She tells him to help MK, he says he doesn't want to work for his SIL. She tells him to get MK and SR married soon, he tells her that it is in her hands, they will marry only after Karthi and Shree get married, so it is up to her to get Karthi married soon to Shree. Palli is pensive.

Temple - Shree and Gayathri are worshiping. They sit down in one area, and Paati who has come to the temple, sees them. She greets them, asks Gayathri why she seems upset and Gayathri tells her that she will tell her everything but not in the temple. Paati agrees, and says they can all go to her house from there. Paati goes in to worship, and right then, Palli also comes to the same temple (adhaan, indha periya Chennaile orey oru temple thaaney irukku!). She comes up to Gayathri and Shree, Gayathri greets her but Shree remains silent and then says that she is going to the car and will her mother please follow? Paati is watching all this with a satisfied look on her face, and when Palli goes near her, turns around and says loudly, I said that even if she is agreeable, will the other person be agreeable to all this? Palli knows what she is talking about, and looks sad (if such a thing is possible for her!) Paati looks triumphant.

Update for Tues, Jun 14, 2011:

MK goes to Shree's house - they have changed the house again. This house looks like the one Adhi used to live in (!), with the different gates, and then they show MK climbing stairs to enter their home, where in the past, they lived on the ground floor - remember the scene when Palli came to their house to tell them about Shree's letter, as well as the scene when she came to apologize and Shreenath, Gayathri and Shreenivasan came to the door? Well, this is a different house, and the door is open, as always, and MK walks in, through the dining room, calling "Sir, Sir", and Gayathri and hubby come out. He wants to talk to Shree, they tell him she is upstairs, he tells them he wants to know why she was so angry with Palli and about Karthi's anger (enge anger kaataNum, adhu theriyadhu indha aaLukku, amma mele thaan thappu irukku, anaal puriyalai, Shree mele kovam!) and so he wants to talk to her. They tell him to go upstairs.

He goes upstairs, Shree is walking around, he talks to her (and they both remain standing. Shouldn't he have the sense to at least sit and discuss such an important matter?). She tells him she doesn't want to talk about it at all, so he goes back, disappointed. I am glad Shree didn't change her mind.

MK goes to SR's house, and is sitting there, thinking. SR comes in, asks what the matter is, and he says he is wondering how you think you know a person, and then you find you don't know that person at all, and she wants to know who he is talking about, and he says Podhuvaa thaan sollaren. Gopi comes in, SR says she can tell the time by his arrival, he is like the eagle in Tirukazhikundram, arrives promptly at feeding time. Gopi is stung and says he won't wet his hands there until he finds himself a job, and leaves. MK is angry that SR talked like that to her father, and he also goes. SR is wondering what went wrong.

Santhosh is listening to music in his room and dancing. Anu is irritated by the loud music and tells Nivedha to tell him to turn it off, and Nivedha gives her ear plugs to wear. She shows her own earplugs. Anu is annoyed, as usual (this woman has no child rearing skills, either, she either shouts at them, or raises her hand, she has no concept of sitting down and talking, and RR of course has no time to see how this family is growing up). She goes to the door, followed by RR and Nivedha, shouts to Santhosh to open the door, and he finally opens it.

RR says he has arranged for an interview for Santhosh at his friend's company, Santhosh wants to know why he cannot be at RR's office (adhu eppadi, angey Karthi comes and goes?) and what kind of job? RR says he must learn everything, and Santhosh gets angry and says if he is a burden to them, to just say so and he will leave, and he goes from there. Anu gets angry as usual and shouts at him, and RR is trying in vain to get her to be quiet. (Totally dysfunctional household, thanks to the bigamist husband - he deserves to be shot, in my opinion!)
