Thursday 24/6/10 - Update by Eljay - thanks a ton Eljay
RR gives the sathiyam to his mother that he will not jeopardize Nivedha's marriage in any way and he will ensure that the wedding goes on properly. Paati is pleased, but Sundaram asks her how she can do this as a mother - pillaiyin nenjil midhikaradhu (I am not sure if this is right, but what I do know is that her son has committed the mistake, so why shouldn't he pay, and pay heavily?), and leaves. Paati is thinking.
Pallavi's house - her friend Kalpana comes to take her to the girl seeing ceremony. Karthi comes there, Kalpana asks him what he is doing, Pallavi says he is doing social service, Kalpana tells him to get a proper job soon, or else time will fly, and it will be too late. Karthi is not happy about this advice, but he agrees and tries to escape, but Kalpana wants to know if his marriage can be fixed with her brother's daughter, and Pallavi looks at him before answering. Karthi says he doesn't want to get married now, Kalpana forces the issue and he gets upset and leaves. Pallavi goes upstairs and asks him if he has anyone in mind, and he says No. (Aamaam, velaikku poga vendaam, appakitte thaan paisa neraya irukku, idhule kalyanam romba avasaram ippo Pallavikku) She probes about the girl in the restaurant and he denies again, so she leaves.
Anu is in the kitchen, making vadais (enakkum inge tea time, konjam inge anuppa mudiyuma?), and Paati comes in to help, but she insists that Paati sit and watch TV and takes her to the living room, where RR and Sundaram are rearranging the furniture. Manju comes in and they ask how the first day was, and she narrates the incident with Priya. RR is concerned, Sundaram has this asadu look on his face, and Paati is shocked. Manju goes upstairs to talk to Nivedha.
Nivedha is still in her usual clothes - yellow salwar kameez, and Manju asks her why she hasn't changed, so she says that she wants the guy to see her in casual wear, and if he doesn't like it, there are always other guys around. Santhosh is listening to all this, and he is wondering about her words.
Pallavi and her friend's family in the car. Pallavi takes out her purse, and her friend sees RR's photo in her purse, remarks that he has put on weight (rude woman!) and Pallavi talks about how he is always at work, eating in the canteen, so Kalpana offers to give him advice. Pallavi calls him, he is standing on the balcony in Anu's house, lies that he is in the office, she gives the phone to Kalpana, who gives her wise pearls of info to RR on how to eat properly, etc. Then she talks of how she is going to RA Puram to see a girl for her son, and RR asks a few questions and realizes she is headed to their house to see Nivedha with Pallavi by her side. In the meantime, Anu comes to call him and says Ennanga? and I was hoping Kalpana would hear that and wonder, but she didn't seem to catch it.
RR tells - who else? - Sundaram about his predicament, and Sundaram says it is better for him to break his promise to his mother than to ruin the happiness of two families, so he is about to flee the place. How I hope he runs into them as he is getting into his car!
