The music maestros of Bollywood, the very gifted Jatin-Lalit pair had split after a working relationship of 16 years. The duo went separate ways for personal reasons. They did not work together, nor were they on talking terms. However, on the sets of Voice of India recently, the two composers have come together again after a hiatus of almost two years. They had last worked with each other in Fanaa. Asked to act as individual judges, the two could not hold a grudge any longer. They spoke to each other for the first time since their split. Apparently Shabana Azmi, who was a celebrity guest on the show, had tears in her eyes and made them promise never to part ways again.
When contacted, Lalit said, "There has been a communication gap between us when we parted ways, and we have not been on talking terms since then. We do not work together any longer, but have begun talking to each other now. However, we will continue to work individually."

Says singer Abhijeet, who was present, "It was a very emotional moment as we were shooting for a parents' special episode. Everyone kept asking why the two brothers have kept this distance from each other over the past two years after working together as a team for such a long time. The experience must have been terrible for them. Besides, beneath it all, the two have also been wanting to patch up their differences for a long time. At the event of reunion, Shabana started crying followed by the two brothers who also couldn't contain their tears. And maybe now that they are back to talking terms, they might start to work together as a creative team all over again."
