When it comes to devotion to God, no one comes close to Ekta Kapoor. She gave the finest example of it recently while shooting for the special mega episode of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

In the show, Virani family has a trademark idol of Radha Krishna, who they refer to as Thakurji. This time, the Virani

family is celebrating Janmashtami in the special episode and the creative team has left no stone unturned to make the episode as grand as possible.

As per the rituals, Janmashtami requires a Bal Gopal, which is the statue of lord Krishna in his childhood days. But, when Bal Gopal comes to any household, keeping the statue of Radha Krishna is mandatory according to the customs. Ekta especially took care of this and ordered two statues from Surat. The idol of Radha Krishna costs Rs 3 lakh and the Bal Gopal idol cost Rs 1.5 lakh approximately.

Now, two new statues of Bal Gopal and Radha Krishna are kept in the Virani house.

When contacted, Vikas Gupta from the show's creative team confirmed the news. "Ekta madam is very particular about Thakurji, which the audience is familiar with for so many years. So, she took special care to get the new statues," he said.

When asked about the cost of the episode, he refused to give the details. "When it is related to Gods and the rituals, I am not supposed to talk about it. It is all a matter of faith," he added.

In the special Janmashtami episode, actors who are not a part of Kyunki… are also performing in the episode. Actors from Kasturi, Meri Awaaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni, a few Balaji loyalists like Sudha Chandran, Voice of India finalists and Abhijeet Sawant are making a special appearance in the show. Interestingly, they have not charged a single penny for their special appearance. Needless to say, Ekta is very touched by their gesture. In return, she is gifting them gold lockets as a token of appreciation.
