The concept of talent hunts has gained enough popularity in recent times and has been well-received by audiences but the brains behind such reality talent hunt shows never fails to churn out a more interesting and innovative concept with each of his endeavors. Gajendra singh who started up with Antakshri introduced a musical competition on a much wider scale, Sa Re Ga Ma, only to triple his popularity. After a fall out with Zee, the producer director has now come up with another musical talent hunt this time on Star. Find out what's the latest, newest thing to watch out for in the brand new show, as Gajendra Singh talks exclusively to Media Curry.

How is Voice of India different from your last shows Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Li'l Champs?

Unlike Sa Re Ga Ma this time the auditions too will be telecasted so that they can also see how the contestants are selected. Our team comprises of very senior and talented music composers and singers so that the contestants can get better grooming and this time unlike Sa Re Ga Ma, there is no gharana concept so that the grooming process is more of a joint effort of all the judges.

Don't you think with so many reality shows like Sa re ga ma, Indian Idol, Fame X, Fame Gurukul and other shows on the very same format will be to monotonous for the audience?

Well I don't think so. The format of shows like Indian idol fame X, Gurukul is different. These shows are about building personalities out of people, whereas Voice of India is about bringing out the best quality playback singers so I don't think it will be monotonous for the audience

You have been repetitive in your choice of judges?

I am very grateful to Alka, Abhijeet, Aadesh and Jatin-Lalit that they are the judges of my show. My team of judges consists of very experienced and talented people form the music fraternity and they will definitely help the contestants in bringing out there best.

You have again taken Shaan as an anchor?

Shaan is a brilliant singer as well as anchor he is my only choice.

There was a buzz that you where starting with fiction on star? What happened to that?

I always wanted to do this but I am certainly working on a new project based on fiction. I don't sing but I have a lot of interest in music and I think working with so many talented people has made my life wonderful.

yes gauri now the blame game begans😉 n they will share equal responsibility for failure n success😉😆😆....pichli dafa Gajji ko Ismail darbar n Himesh ne bohat sataya na gharane ke chakkar me isliye is baar no gharana.........sab milkar har ek contestant pe mehnat karo.............i hope its good for the contestants😛 n for us😳

😆 so true. Himmy Hammy Resham Miya is such a dramabaaz😆 I am so glad we don't have to suffer thrue his natakbazi here😆

hmmm well well well .. we here in Hkg were extremely surprised when one fine morning saw an ad with Shaan on Star Plus this post explains it all.. thks for sharing

use to be hard core fan of Saregama ... now am watching both the shows..aditya is really cute ... yet Shaan has a quality of his own....

I did not like the title song as much as I liked...saarey suron ka yeh hai milan. The new dhun is okay but contestants are better than zee srgmp'07. Judges won't be able to raise the TRPs as none could argue and create controversies as effortlessly as HR 😉 ...but singers will take this show to new heights 😃

yes that is true...the singers seem to be much better in Star ki Voice

oh well.. let's see how it goes seems all the mediocre singers ended up in Saregama...but then again yes they've got HR who is really good in creating scenes..for ppl who like some drama..
