Why is everyone here so blinded by their dislike of Saptaparna? 😕
I am not actively supporting anyone, as I think nobody really stands out from the group and that they are ALL rather mediocre singers (yes, even Rithisha is not as great as half the members here hype her up to be. Her surs are better than any of the others', but her feel is really lacking). But Saptaparna really is one of the better contestants. Yes, her voice is somewhat shaky, yes, she has breath control issues, and yes, she goes off-sur here and there, but her voice is pleasant, she sings with great feel, and she's picked some quite challenging songs. Some of her performances are among the few that have stood out among the general mediocrity of this competition, and she didn't get half the accolades she deserved for her rendition of "Mayya Mayya", which was excellent IMHO. I wouldn't say the top 5 is an ideal one (I would have MUCH rather been listening to Mallar, Shraddha, Vinti or Rahul than to either Vipul (who has failed to live up to the expectations I initially had of him) or Rohit Sonar, for example), but Saptaparna is one of the people who deserves to have got this far in the competition, and I would be pleased if she won.
And if you're going to start declaring that her song had to be re-shot and what-have-you, at least quote a reliable source. I believed last week that Rohit Sonar was out (and was very happy about it) due to reports on this forum, until I watched the episode and saw to my dismay that Mallar, who had more talent than most, was actually the eliminated contestant. So forgive me if I take all the reports on here with a pinch of salt.
