inter-relationships are set to change

After the five year leap in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, producer Rajan Shahi is all set to fast forward his Amrit Manthan by seven years. The leap in Yeh Rishta... had done wonders for the show which emerged on top-of-the charts after that. He hopes the same will happen to Amrit Manthan which has played out the hatred between two sisters Amrit and Nimrit for long.

"We want to change the dynamics of their equation and how the audience is perceiving the characters. Even the inter-relationships are set to change," says Rajan who is bringing about a 360 degree transformation in the show. Two little girls aged six will be introduced in the show. While one will be Nimrit's daughter, there will be a mystery around the other girl – whether she is Adaa or Amrit's daughter.

Past experiences have shown that whenever kids have been introduced, the ratings have improved, whether it's Bade Acche Lagte Hai, Hitler Didi or Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. "Kids have a lot of emotional connect with the viewers. The entire equation changes, and in a show like Amrit Manthan, where the dominant emotion is hatred, it will be interesting to see how they turn it into love," says Rajan.

There is talk of a shift in the slot of the show that will make way for a new serial Savitri but Rajan maintains that it will be aired in the same slot for now.
