I am sorry to say, for all the noise folks are making on IF, they are probably not translating it into concrete action or atleast thats the impression I get.
I spoke to a creative director of Sony today who is incharge of on-air promotions. I am not gloating, I made another international call to a Mumbai number. He confirmed that AKA is going off-air after the current track and is going to be replaced by another show next month. I almost begged him on phone not to do it and he diplomatically said he will share the feedback with the management but mostly, it might not work.
He also asked me to share the feedback on email and I am doing that parallelly as I type this post. This is apart from the daily feedback I am posting on Sony's website and messages to them on FB whenever I login there-I am not sure if anybody is looking at those though. I know for sure my calls get answered and I am doing that.
The creative director also confirmed they are not promoting the show because it is going off air soon. Now, stop bashing Sony and think of it from their angle. They do not hear from any crazy fans, they do not see a great TRP, they have a business to run and airtime costs a lot of money. So, they will axe the show, right?
Now, I hope you all can spare 10-20 rupees to make a STD call to Sony and let them know your love for the show. If you cant, please dont atleast pretend on the forum that you are planning to do it.
The CM rating on IF does not matter, the calls definitely matter and emails and FB posts and Twitter trends matter. The online views of Sony's youtube channel and Sonyliv.com also matter to an extent-how can you prove a show is popular if it has only a few points on TRP and a few views their official online channels?
So, please dont care to reply to this post if you are not doing any of the above. If you have done any of the above, please do it again if you love the show and really want it to continue on air. No more "I am going to do or we should do" Please actually do it.
Again, if people are offended by this, I am sorry but I stand by what I said above.
