A few days ago my friends and I decided to weather the storm in Northern California by watching some old(ish) Hindi movies. Being huge Aamir Khan fans we started with Sarfarosh. One of my friends said that Sonali Bedre had made a come-back of sorts into Television and was doing a show.

So I decided to check it out.

Reluctantly.

I cannot tell you the number of Hindi TV shows that I have had to abandon within a few weeks because of the regressive and truly bizarre story lines.

But there was a storm and I was bored.

After a marathon viewing session, I have emerged with my eyesight somewhat intact and I had to post here.

There have been too many shows promising "mature love stories" and here is one that actually delivers. Two people who've had their hearts broken, who find friendship in each other and I hope also eventually fall in love.

How the hell can they not?

Each has what the other wants and deserves in a partner. Integrity,

I've always liked Apoorva Agnihotri and his Vikram and Sonali Bendre's Shobha make a great on-screen couple. She is all grace and elegance and he is all intense and frenetic. Summed up perfectly in the coffeehouse promo with that superb jazzed up rendition of Ajeeb Dastan Hai. (BTW, is there a download for that?)

How can Shobha not fall in love with a man who can help mani adjust her curls with total concentration and seriousness? And how can Vikram resist Shobha's strength and positivity?

There's a line from one of my favorite Jane Austen novels that I will paraphrase (somewhat poorly, I admit). No two people even with half the sum of attractions that these two have could help but fall in love.

I am sitting back with my coffee and enjoying the ride.

Icing on this show's cake: Nani. Ray of sunshine.

Being in Newyork it is easy to say " why can't they fall in love".But here it takes so much effort and time to come out of the cultural tangles and their own selves to think otherwise.
There lies the beauty of this story. It may look like Mills and Boon story, but the effort to make them come together is a mahmoot job

Hi Shanti! Of course I remember! 🤗I was on the forum for the show about a dance reality contest too...i've forgotten the name. I'm really loving ADHY so far. AA and SB are doing a marvelous job and it's really nice to see AA back on screen again. I'm enjoying watching Vikram and Shobha develop respect, understanding, compassion and friendship for each other. After all can there be a better recipe for love? love between two adults who have their own identities and histories.

I love a good love story and this one is fab!

Hi Mira, I am May. Welcome to ADHY forum.
This show is a gem with its fabulous concept and I religiously follow it.
I normally refrain from watching soaps ( too much exaggeration and illogical storylines) but I accidentally came across this show's promo and instantly knew this was going to be something different. The show didn't disappoint me.
Main highlight of the concept is its main leads. Each character is carved with such perfection and have stayed true to reality. They also appear relatable. Shobha and Vikram both have suffered enormously in relationships they nurtured so caringly. Of course, why shouldn't they fall in love? Sonali is elegant and Apurva I have always enjoyed his acting. I am eagerly waiting for the track when these two contrasting personalities will accept each other's companionship.
Also, the supporting cast (Naani, Garu, ketan, mil) create an overall nice atmosphere. And most importantly, we don't witness those typical long stares, trip-fall-catch or loud bg music. Instead we are served with meaningful talks, lovely conversations and sweet smiles😊
I am thoroughly enjoying this show with a perfect cup of coffee! 👍🏼

o yes Aasman Se Aage (ASA) well nice to see you here !! I am always there where Apurva is !! Love his work & as Vikram Ahuja he has scaled to new frontiers in character mapping of simple human being with complex deep rooted personalities & his chemistry with sonali as Shobha is beautiful !!

Are u from California?? Just thought as u wrote??

I have made scenes of Vikram Shobha called Vibha & vikram Naani they are really sweet people!!

Do check them out!!

Today there is no episode darn yet can't wait to see how the story unfolds!!!

Hi, I'm not sure what New York has to do with anything! 😕

The beauty of this love story is that Shobha and Vikram have to deal with their personal demons before they can make a fresh start with each other. That's what makes it mature and totally worth watching!

Hi May! Thanks! I'm really happy to have discovered this show - I'm very wary of TV soaps!

@bold: Amen to that! I don't think I could deal with one more trip-fall-catch sequence or 5 minute long "eye-locks"...🤪

This is story and the way it's being told is far more relatable, as you've said.

And I LOVE that Vikram has a chain of coffee shops. I am a coffee addict too!
