Beautifully put Jyo !! 👏👏 I love ur explanation !! The car scene had emotions pouring out with a burst of anger throwing that rose & the car keys falling somewhere until she found them again ...The STATE OF MIND WAS CLEARLY SHOWING HER EMOTIONS & THE WAY SHE FELT THE LOSS OF HER IDENTITY IN THE STATE SAMARTH HAS LEFT HERInteresting post Sami 👍🏼..
I think Her emotional journey has not exactly ended .. she might hv bottled up her emotions somewhere inside her heart just to b strong in front of her kids who r still not aware of the reality of their father and also Garima's engagement is round the corner .. so if she starts sulking now , who will handle her kids and take care of other issues which needs priority now 🤔
There was one dialogue which Shobha told in Fri or thurs epi I think .. something like "Samarth ne galti ki , par ab rishta jud chuka hai , toh mujhe uski zimmedari nibhani padegi " .. That is "Samarth did a mistake , but I m already tied in this relation now , so I got to fulfill my duties towards this family " .. this was the self assurance she gave to herself after her car outburst in wednesday episode ..
I guess the above dialogue was a clear indication of her priorities in life right now .. she has no time to sulk as they r in financial crisis as well .. she need to b financially stable first and only then she can afford to sit and hv a recap of the happenings that went in last 2 days and then mayb go through those emotions ...
In fact she cant even show those emotions in her eyes to her family as well or else her kids will start hating their father and will sulk over it which can ruin their school life as they r too young to understand the complex issues involved with it all (Mayb this is where you could not see that pain in her eyes because clearly she is not showing it in open to anyone that hse is hurt except for the car scene where she was all alone and there one could clearly feel her real pain )
Even in her car outburst scene , it was the same .. she was emotionally drained out and might hv gone in that sulking mode for sometime if that accident midway had not happened which made her realise that how they r on the verge of becoming bankrupt now ... thats where her priorities took over her emotions I felt ..
But that does not mean she has gotten over it all .. nope .. everything is bottled up in her heart and it will come out slowly for sure ..
Ok I had made a conscious decision on NOT posting but could not help myself...when seeing the very interesting and similar topic of discussion that had happened at previous show forum...
Dear TM,
Firstly let me give the practical reasons -
1.The show is finite and episodes are at a quicker pace that the usual norm of an Indian daily soap where it takes months for progress from one situation to another.
2. Secondly when seeing the whole of the week you realize that makers want to move forward with Shobha's shattered wedded life and take the actual story forward to what happens after that, how th dynamics of relationships change. How Shobha picks up the broken pieces, dumps them in a basket and moves on.
Now coming to the character Shobha. As a character she has been promoted/sold as being an optimist. That is the major strength of this woman. In times of adversity she seeks the positive. This helps her to deal with every situation in a head on manner.
Secondly it does feel that Shobha's freedom was suppressed by Samarth during her 9 years of marriage. It changed her to what he made of her. Dependent on him for everything. We have seen he thinks very little of her and that she is incapable of doing anything without him. We know nothing of the young Shobha...of what kind of person she was before her marriage Now with her world turned upside down suddenly...that young woman of before has emerged once again. You can see a glimpse of this bold sensible woman when she tells her mother-in-law about her unfaithful son, when she blasts her own BIL for hiding the truth from her and her straightforwardness in speaking her mind. There are no tears.
Remember that Samarth is not dead and she is not in mourning. He was cheating on her, now is caught and it's a revelation and relief that she got to know sooner than later. Tough luck, there are kids to handle, a sister in law who's engagement has to happen, and there is a home to take care of. She is immersing herself in doing what is practically required, which subconsciously keeps her mind busy and no time to sit and cry over this spoilt milk (Samarth)...
Shobha seems like a practical woman. Someone who finds simple solutions to sticky issues or larger problems. The scene where she wipes off her tears right away and smiles for her kids and thinks of a pillow fight. The scene where she reserves the parking spot. That's practicality. When she dares to walk into another office to fix her broken sandal...that's practicality...
Secondly every woman deals with similar situations in a different manner. If one sits and cries buckets over a lousy husband, another would put on her highest heels, paint her nails the brighest red, gather together her girlfriends and have a blast whilst celebrating and cursing a scumbag like Samarth, or another would say what next...this man has turned my life upside down...what do I do?...ok so what next...and that's Shobha for you! Samarth is no more her priority, her kids and family are! So i'd say..yes Shobha's behaviour was normal...
And like Jyothi said...there will be times when she would think of it...only to realise she was living in a farytale world...unreal and fake...
