Actor Amit Dua, part of the starcast of the popular family drama Kyunki Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, has now joined another popular Balaji saga Kasauti Zindagi Kay. In this serial, the handsome actor will play Anuraag Basu's younger cousin who is adopted. The character makes an entry with a family puja and will develop over the next few weeks with substantial family scenes.

Says the actor, "The main reason for me to come to Mumbai was the desire to work with Balaji Telefilms. Now with so many Balaji serials, I feel my career is moving ahead." Amit has earlier received applause for his performance in Sath Rahega Always and in the popular serial Siddhant. As an artiste, Amit has managed to portray a variety of roles and is willing to try out as many meaningful avatars as possible.

Meanwhile, yet another actor, Pawan Shankar is set to enter the Balaji camp. He will soon be seen in Ekta Kapoor's new show Thoda Si Zameen, Thoda Sa Aasman, a realistic story based on trade unions, written by the acclaimed Rang De Basanti writer, Kamlesh Pandey.

In this seriel, co-produced by Smriti Irani, Pawan plays a trade union leader named Sanjay Apte who goes through the regular trials and tribulations in the affairs of trade unions. The story is seemingly different from the regular Balaji fare of larger-than-life sets and emotional dramas, and promises to portray sets and situations as realistically as possible.

Pawan Shankar's latest role is a follow up of his brilliant performance in the Emmy-nominated Siddhant on Star One. Currently starring in Sony's Aisa Desh Hai Mera, he says he is thrilled to be playing a meaningful character once again with this show which promises to set new benchmarks for Indian television.
