Well this is my first OS in this forum. Hie to all and a very big thanks to you all for wishing to read my writing.
Here goes without any delay.
03:30 AM ANANYA'S ROOM
Alarm buzzing.
Oh! Not again. What the hell! I stopped it just a second ago didn't I? Pulling up from the bed she checked the time. It is not an alarm precisely. The phone was buzzing with a name "Captain Rathore" on it. Startled was a small word. She picked the phone nervously thinking of all the possibilities that may have been a reason for the call.
"First Officer Ananya Rawat, Is it you?" the person spoke.
"Yes Captain. It is me. Anything serious captain?" her voice was showing all the nervousness.
"Officer, there is a small problem. First officer mayank is unwell and no one is available to join the air bus 978. Since you were free I thought you will assist" Rathore spoke with all the authority but a hint of request.
Ananya smiled. Alright you are requesting without a please word. "No problem sir. I will. I will be there by 6 sharp"
"Yes officer. You better be" Rathore spoke happily.
With that the line got disconnected. Another long journey. She stood sighing. She had to set up and she just has an hour. She picked up her stuff from her wardrobe and picked the full trolley that was not yet unpacked from the previous journey and set the required items. Cross checking that everything was in place she went to take a bath. Getting ready she walked down the stairs and took the keys leaving a message on the door she walked out. Jumping into her car, she zoomed into the streets of Bangalore. Kempegowda Airport was not very far from her cousin's home. She didn't stay in a hotel whenever she has a flight from Bangalore.
Apparently her car is left here when her father drove it from Mumbai. So she uses it whenever required.
She went to the locker as soon as she reached there.
"You are on the flight 978 Ananya?" Mahaima asked her as she walked out of the room. Surprised by the sudden question ananya turned and looked at mahima with a confused look surfacing.
" Oh-ho I am just surprised first officer. You were on a holiday I suppose?" mahima said smiling.
Ananya smiled back. " It's just that first Officer Mayank isn't well so I am assisting Captain Rathore" ananya completed.
Mahima was confused. Ananya raised her brows.
"But Ananya Captain Rathore isn't on 978. Akash is on board" mahima said.
"What?" ananya was confused as well. She didn't ask Captain Rathore who was she to assist. Sighing her displeasure she smiled a OH'.
"Alright then. Gotta go now. Bye" Ananya smiled at mahima and started walking.
Last three days were too dramatic. Acting all ignorant with Akash. Oops Captain Akash Saluja was a tough task. After the day she threw out her enthusiasm and Akash ignored her and walked away. She needed to act along. She never did such things ever. Nor she felt like this. She want to keep it professional. She went a little over board this time and she had to stop. Pulling the strands of confidence she walked to the flight. There he was. Standing in front of the terminal looking all the more handsome. She needed to maintain the faade. She was looking down and walking. She was boosting her mind with the most required energy. Until when she heard him.
"Ms. Rawat" he called putting his hands in his pockets.
"Good morning Captain Akash Saluja" she said with all the required seriousness.
Irritated with her curt reply he tch-ed "Good Morning First Officer Ananya Rawat" he said with all the sarcasm dripping.
A little taken back but composed she walked before him. He knew that he was wrong by ignoring her. It was just a small act played by him. But he didn't expect this coming. Ofcourse it was ananya.
It was meant to be different. Sighing and hoping to clear all the differences he walked into the cockpit confidently.
She was already on her seat. He tried to make conversation with her but all was in vein.
"Ms Rawat can you just check the reports" he said looking at her. She just nodded not looking at him and she turned over the reports. "Yes Captain. Checked" she said adjusting all the switches.
He was angry. Very. He looked at Ananya about to lash but the door to the cockpit opened and there stood Natasha.
"Good morning Akash. Want some coffee?" she asked him ever so sweetly.
"No Thanks Nathasha and yeah It's Captain Akash" he said and Ananya suddenly turned towards him. Natasha was startled and Akash was fuming.
Taking the lead he spoke into the microphone. The journey was smooth but the atmosphere inside was nothing less than hot summer day. Ananya saw him enraged but this was the limit. When the flight was about to land he looked at her sharply.
"What is your problem Rawat" his nose was all red. Ananya controlled her laugh. She bit her inner cheek.
"what captain?" she asked him.
He turned to her so menacingly "Prepare for the landing" he said. She just nodded knowingly. After the landing she got up waiting to escape but found herself captured in his hands. He caught her wrist.
She nudged trying to free herself but no use. He was stronger. He looked into her eyes.
"Why are you ignoring me?" was his first question. She was surprised. She didn't expect this coming.
"Captain? What?" she asked acting all innocent. How dare he, to question her.
"Don't captain me. You very well know what I am talking about. You are avoiding me and that is clear" he said taking a step forward.
"Captain... I guess you are not in your right senses. Why will I avoid you. I mean we are in a professional front and ... "
"Shut up ananya. Don't teach me stuff like that. I know better." He was angry and he was talking all that he didn't want to. But destruction was done. Ananya pulled her hand from his. "yes captain you know better. That is why I'm asking you. What have I done?" she almost yelled.
He stared back. He didn't understand what proper explanation he is supposed to put forth. She looked at him hurt evident in her eyes. "Bye captain" she said walking away faster. She needed air.
what the hell is wrong with me' akash was pissed with himself. He groaned. He had to catch her up and tell her his behaviour was out of anger.
