What suggestions would you have for Laali if she could not dance because Shekhar stopped her? Let us say he threatens to divorce her for dancing or leaving her permanently. Is the dancing worth the risk over her marriage?
What other things could she do? Unfortunately the girl has some limited options due to
her level in society.
Here are some suggestions that I have:
1. She could take up a job cleaning and cooking for a nice rich Thakur and Thakuraine, hopefully they can pay her very well.
2. She could stand on the side of the road and beg people for money by saying her son is going to die soon if she does not get medicine.
3. She could put an ad in the local and national newspaper asking for donations because her son is very sick and needs the money. Put a picture of the cute kid it will get to people.
4. Put on a few shows in some of the towns and charge large amounts of money. Use Loha in the show to have him play tricks like an animal. Show him off and people will come just to see him humilated.
5. Play poker or kabiddi with Loha and whoever wins gets the boy.
