What if Someone had said that Shekhar had took advantage of Shyamli, would they still humilate her? And why doesn't the doctor say that they are not MARRIED!..

I hate it how some traditions exploit women in the name of " religion"..just to there fufill there desires

Many people who are educated take advantage of holy scriptures and use them for there benefits..and the lower class people follow them because they are told it is their religion

Laali is stripped naked and paraded publicly - that is certainly the end of AJMBHK for me - i don't think i can stomach such a scene, especially in this day and age. Is the Panchayat (hope it is the right word) so strong in the villages and small towns even today? Are the police so helpless in such situations?

Are the creatives/producers depicting India correctly? If such actions are not true, why depict it. Aren't you embarrasing the people of the country to the world? Creatives you are now stripping India in front of the world - where is your pride for the country.

If you show it becuase such things do happen rampantly in INdia and you want to educate the people that such things are not correct - then do it properly. But the way it is shown it looks like you condone such acts. Shame on you.

It is really sad that the creatives have stupped this low with the public humilation they want Lali to face. I do not mind them bringing up the topic of this practice, but show it in a some tactful way, so we do not have to see anything. It will be good to make people aware of this problem.

Does this kind of atrocity still happen in villages in India? If it does and they are trying to highlight it, then they should show a way out for these women. What would be good is to show women as an upcoming strong force. The women in the village should identify with her and come to her rescue not wait for a man to rescue her. They should take up arms and say we will not put up with this nonsense, protect Laali's modesty and thrash the heck out of the Mahant and Chotte Laal, Ranvijay etc and throw the Panchayat out of business. Who gave these guys the right to decide whether a woman is chaste or not? They should bring everyone to justice, starting from Loha SIngh, Ranvijay, the pimp, Gangiya etc etc.
