I don't understand why Sumitra said that either. But your assertion that just because Laali and Shekhar are married, it gives him "rights" over her is a bit disturbing. Marital rape is very real. A woman alone has rights over her body--no one else, husband included. Shekhar did not rape Laali, but it has nothing to do with the fact that they are married.

The person to blame for all this mess is Loha...he is the one who started this by buying Lali first of all.
