In the earlier episodes, Shekar (Abhishek Rawat) stole jewellery from his home, the blame for which fell on Laali. The village panchayat had then declared that Laali's fingers would be chopped off.

The girl is completely bowled over by this and holds him in awe; treating him like a god, Laali starts doing little things to impress Shekar."
