With once popular shows dropping off air leaving TV actors unemployed, it's a dream come true for the month-old Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo (Zee TV) which has become very popular amongst audiences. Such a success in such a short span of time is almost unheard of for any new show.
"YES, it feels really great!" exclaims Ratan Rajput, who plays the lead role of Laali, "we shoot from 4am to 11pm without a break and after that we are so tired that we just go to sleep. That's our schedule but when we come to know that our work is being appreciated, it's a feeling which I can't even explain!"
The entire cast of the show is shooting in Wai, a village in Maharashtra. To get the actual feel of a village, the actors do whatever they can to make their characters look realistic. The actress tells us, "We walk barefoot the entire day and we shoot in the extremely hot climate with no make up on. The soles of our feet are badly injured but we don't have the time to look at them. Our feet hurt when we go to bed but then, at the end of the day, when we come to know about the results, everything pays off."
The actress says that as they are shooting in a rural area, she is not able to keep track on the responses. She says, "We are shooting in a place where there is not even adequate electricity. There is no network here so we can't follow up on the responses. It's only when the press or people from the production tell us that people like the show that we come to know. Then we feel really blessed!"
And it's not just the public but telly stars too who love watching the show. Gunjan Walia of Betiyaan says she is very impressed with the show's concept. She says, "Although I can't catch up with the show regularly, whenever I get the time, I watch it for sure. It is a very good show with an excellent concept and outstanding cast."
Shilpa Shinde, who was seen as Soni on Maayka, tells us, "It is such an amazing show. Ever since the promos have been on, I was excited to see it. Such characters are so influential; I hope that I too get a chance to play something like this. It's an amazing show."
Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo airs every Monday to Thursday at 9:30pm on Zee TV.
