I am getting increasingly amazed at the way Aditya's character is being chalked out in this show. What is the compulsion behind showing a man. who is soon to be the father of 3 children, sulking and snapping at his children after losing his job? Does he really think push-selling household products door-to-door is the best way to solve his financial cataclysm, which incidentally he brought it on himself by taking someone else's blame on himself in a almost incomprehensibly short-sighted gesture. Why isn't he out and about trying for a new job? How is it that an adult family man can sit back watching his wife juggle two jobs as well as taking care of his developmentally challenged love-child and their son, without trying to lift a finger to resolve the crisis. I am pretty sure he is going to end up using Abhi's FD for Antara. But, then what? Another round of tears and self-flagellation till someone else bails him out?
I always felt that Vidya doesn't deserve Aditya.. even discounting his egregious act of treachery and selfishness when he willingly slept and impregnated an old flame while being in a loving and secure marriage. He is just shown to be a weak, conviction-less and incapable man while Vidya is such an amazingly strong, sensitive and caring person. IF it wasn't for Vidya, Antara would have ended up in an orphanage. It is Vidya who fights with society trying to get acceptance for Antara. It is Vidya who is trying to continue Antara's treatment by using up her own sons money. I just wish there was more balnce and equality in the way this marriage is being portrayed, considering how sensitively they are trying to etch the other characters in the show. How about showing Aditya to be a man in more ways than just fathering children?
