At the Clinic……..
The session starts with Antara. She is vocally protesting but both the educators coax her into settling down. She is shown three sets of beads of different colours and is asked to segregate them. She does this quickly and the building blocks too. There is a round of applause for her. The didi rubs the beads on the palms of Antara's palms to make her get the feel. They also make her give eye.
At Home…..
Vidya's mother has come visiting for a girl to girl talk. Vidya makes tea. The mother asks Vidya why her face is so pale and whether she was eating well. Eating a balanced diet is good for you and your baby, she says. Vidya begins to smile and then wipes it off. Mother asks what happened. Vidya says she is tired of trying to make her marriage work and nothing seems to happen. Life may never regain its original charm. Her mother asks her to be patient for life is lived in the present. Enjoy what you have at the moment. If you live in the past, you'll achieve nothing. You will find happiness she argues. But Vidya is unsure. She feels Adit has moved away so far that the gaps cannot be bridged. This means you haven't forgiven him as yet, says her mother. She says you are just performing your duties and that is no togetherness which a marriage must have. Vidya says she is in a quandary because she can't understand herself now ……..
She wants to live with Adit and love him, but the thought of his betrayal ………
She wants to force him to tell her why he did what he did, she wants to cry on his shoulder and hug him. But it's all strange now. She feels she has changed and wonders if her situation and Antara's is the same. They are both paying for the mistakes of Anu and Adit.
Question: How was Antara paying for her parents actions, can you explain this Vidya? Do you really believe that Antara became autistic due to the extra-marital affair?
Adit wants to meet someone and requests him that they should meet at nine the next morning. He returns home and sees food on the table with a solitary plate. Antara is playng Jigsaw on the floor. He sits down for dinner and Vidya comes in with a glass of water waiting silently at the door for a moment. She asks him if he can come early to talk to the caterers. He mumbles yes. After dinner, he sits with Antara and the scrap book. She ignores him and continues playing Jigs. This is Papa. This is Abhi. But she does not look. This is Billo. Who is this? Isn't this Ma? Antara shows no interest. Adit sighs and leaves the room.
He goes to the balcony. He begs for Anu's forgiveness. He knows the need to make her independent. You will always be her mother. Vidya has walked into the room and is hearing this monologue. (How convenient). He says she needs a mother more. He knows Vidya will do that perfectly. But that doesn't mean that your (Anu's) work is over. You must light up our Anatra's life whenever life threatens to become dark for her. (Dude, do you know what you're saying? Or are you hallucinating?) Adit is overwhelmed and Vidya shattered once again. She's very annoyed. Adit turns around and realises what has happened and looks consternated. Mayb he's realised his blunder.
Next day, he is leaving early and so wakes up Vidya to tell her and request her to drop Angel to the clinic. She nods ok.
Adit is trying to take on an extra job. Vidya takes Antara to the clinic. Abhi is with them and is bewildered by the sight he sees. Anyway Vidya takes Antara to her seat. She meets Vikram who offers her some coffee. She says no thanks and is on her way out but feels faint. Vikram comes forward to help her balance. She holds his hand for support. He is … ahem taken aback.
Question: Adit, when will you stop putting your foot in your mouth and disturbing Vidya? Since when have you started relating with Anu? And what's this hamari Antara? Didn't you say you had no feelings for Anu?
Conclusion: Adit is a confused guy and confuses his wife even more. Vidya can't make up her mind. Does she want to move forward, backward or sideways? Where does she want her relationship to go?
Precap: The ladies of the society (Mrs Gupta and the Prez of the Society) have banned poor little Abhi from playing with their chidren. And of course they call Angel "diwani".
