In an effort to create romantic moments the CVs have lost their grip on realism, which was a hallmark of this serial. While other shows had middle class families living in glamourous homes, KB showed a typical middle class house in Delhi, even the decor looked affordable not designer. While other shows had women cooking and sleeping in sequined sarees with heavy jewellery and make-up, this one showed the lady of the house in a nightgown and ordinary salwar suits. Simi wore normal clothes to work not sheer sarees with backless blouses. When Abhi took Simi out the first time they ate street food (more typical of youngsters) not in a candlelit restaurant.

Enough has been said about the fight and marriage scenes so I won't even start on those! Today again the SimBhi scenes were sweet but very unrealistic:
(i) Simi is a lecturer on a salary not a daily worker - surely she would have a bank account (most organisations in modern India bank in salaries) and credit card.
(ii) What about friends, given that both are very nice people wouldn't they have made some good friends who will be happy to help?
(iii) Anusha is a rich wife with lots of pin money - couldn't she have given Abhi some when they left?
(iv) They could have sold Simi's wedding jewellery (which was for shaadi with Nakul anyway).
They urgently need a writer who can write romantic scenes without resorting to gimmicks like sleeping on a park bench. Imagine going to stay with a friend and stealing moments of intimacy in the friend's house full of people. Imagine the thrill of signing their names as Mr & Mrs Tarneja for the first time in a hotel. Imagine Abhi choosing a fancy hotel and Simi chiding him in typical wifely fashion to be thrifty.

They were thrown out of the house in the middle of the night when no bank, store or jewellars are open..

Next they left the house without taking anything. in rush and I don't think abhi would have accepted any help from his mom under the circumstances, since MR T insulted simi. How can they sell jewellary in the middle of night. No jewllers are open then.
Tom will be different situation hopefully/. As for simi having any money I am not sure. If she did she did not have to sell her books or borrow money.from abhi.for nitu's abortion.
But i do agree about friend. They never showed any one with abhi or helping abhi as if he is always working alone. He even had to bring his own mehendi and so true I even felt how come a mixing fellow like abhi has no friends who can help him in such situations.
He even mentioned when anu came to sethi house that he had few friends.

Bana, You are absolutely right!! You brought some very important points forward that the creatives need to examine before the take us on this romantic journey where the couple end up with jobs with Abhi as a construction worker and Simi scrubbing floors and washing clothes. Although I do have to admit, I did enjoy the episode even if Abhi did end up making rotis and the couple ended up on the park bench.
In reality, Simi should have a bank account or even a job where she can make someone money. Abhi definately has to have some friends or relatives who would want to help them couple out. And Anushi should have some money too. When Simi came back with the ointment I thought she had sold her earings😉.
Simi might not have left with her purse and Abhi should have at least SOME money saved up from his job with Nukul (unless he spent on redoing his room). I do hope they bring these issues up. If the creative team is desperate, pride is often a reason why Abhi would not seek help from anyone.

It's funny how Ramas has made a number of execuses why they were in their situation without realising that in the middle of the night Simi did find a place or someone to whom she could sell her phone.
I love the idea of some them sneaking into a hotel room...that's funny.
I think it's going to be long time before we see their suhaag raat, I just hope if they take their time, we get to see more scenes of them together that are well written and some of that chemistry that was once lost. The last three months were just awful.

Bana,
Same feeling as your on todays episode.

Am not in a mood to write too much today, so let this not be considered a negative post bcos I am not pointing out the positive ones.
For me, yes, there were here and there cute Simbhi scenes, but on the whole, it didn't go down well with me bcos as u say being unrealistic (again, don't want to list any). After an awesome episode yday, todays was a let down in comparison, but nothing that I want to make a hue and cry about, for now.

Not a big deal for correction, but yes,it wasn't a park bench, but the dhaba cot that they were having dinner at, that they slept on.

I am looking forward to tomorrows episode where hopefully the realism hits.

Bana you are right.. even i gave the similar opinion in my earlier Post.
atleast they should have some money to buy food... Are we saying abhi did not even have 100Rs in his pocket..
I hope they donot get in Jail tomorrow and the way people were looking at them was a horrible sight and a nightmare... for anyone.
Poor them. I really felt sad for them.. But yes Creatives needs to shell out some money and get some good clothes for Simi as she is so beuatiful and they are hiding her beauty in some very light colored suits.
Abhi is MBA grad and she should get a job soon and ofcourse a flat where they can have their Suhaag Raat.
I wish creatives show many many more romantic scenes between two of them and atleast a kiss this week. well who will wait once they are married for atleast a kiss.

Nice points bana
i wish he atleast he should have had his jeep !!
It was soo precious for him !! He never parted with it till he had to buy the ring for Simi ..
He also had a wallet he could have grabd it and then left on the streets..
but yes i felt they could have checked into some hotel and then spent the night ..

Lets see how thy will ovrcome these problems

I wonder if Simi can go back to her college .. I hope the other teachers do not paise and point a finger at her abt marrying a younger guy whioch will happen but she should talk abt her professional life and shouldn't affect her personal life i hope she stand up to defend herself and not be ashamed of doing what she did..

And I hope Abhi's friend should be there who could help or someone or I am sure Abhi being soo highly qualified will get an excellent job or i wouldn't be surprised iof his job at nakul's still stays as on a professional level !!

I hope now here will be more energy and challenges they have top face and Simi deals with all the problems alone and in support of Abhi ..

Since the show has moved at such a fast pace I hope they can show some realistic things happening in the lives of the characters and make us feel that the characters convey a proper message for the viewers to enjoy and watch

Thanks for the responses, always nice to hear views on one's view - whether in agreement or otherwise.
Laila, you are right - the creatives need to take stock and not let this degenerate into a filmy situation where Abhi and Simi are doing coolie and naukarani jobs. It is in fact a great opportunity for the Sunshiners who were bold enough to showcase the theme of a older woman - younger man relationship, to push the envelope further by having Simi support Abhi (continue to work, get a small apartment on rent with her salary) while he finds a job and the two together earn and build their home. After all Abhi did say "ab se tum mujhe chaloege".
Ramas, your affection for Simi and Abhi is obvious and so is your ability to see the brighter side!
Bee, Abhi will have a sensitive balancing act on his hands, egging Simi on to buy nicer more youthful clothes without making her feel she is not good enough as she is.
And yes, more romantic scenes pleeeeeeeeeeeeze! The dabha owner won't be very happy if they kissed in his dabha so they should have sold something else and gone for a night show in the movie hall. Can cootchie-coo plus catch a nap in air-conditioned comfort!

Love the cheeky romantic side of you and all those creative ideas. Hope the KB people are on the same wavelength.😉
