I know abhi did not want anita to suspect anything . Anit ais very nasty towards them now and even get nastier to sethis if hs efinds out but sooner or later abhi needs anit's support to convince his mother.

They are not so called prfect couple in the eyes of socieity and family members because of their age and a class difference. and can't afford to get caught.
why didn't abhi defend simi when anita told her aap aaj kal apne pairome ulzake girti raheti ho sambhalo apne kadam. Simi wasn't happy as they both were invloved in intimacy. Abhi should have said something that time.I know he was angry and upset.

Good point. I agree, and that's another example of Abhi turning into a weaker character. The quick witted Abhi we saw earlier on (before he went ga-ga over Simi).

NAKUL--he acts like he is mr.perfect...he has the values ..bt it seems like he is forcefully trying to be all sanskaari and all..bcoz seeing him it looks like he is showing off a lot...his character though shown as a good guy seems fake

SO the major difference is both r MR.Right bt Abhi is true while Nakul atleast to me seems fake.. 😊

Guys, he is not fake, he's supposed to represent everything that parents like Simi's want in a guy for their daughter. It's just overdone by the creative team just like when they want Abhi to look younger they put him in Tom and Jerry tee-shirts😉

Second, if you pay attention, Nukul is Abhi's teacher and even Abhi himself realizes he has competition.
Well . . . while like you I'm here in the good ol' US of A, I'm curious . . . how have you viewed material not available to the rest of us? In any event, teachers do not end up as competition . . . and Nakul as teacher in this context has little meaning . . . no? Adolescent adulation a pupil makes not . . .
Whether you think he is not competiton doesn't matter. The writers are telling you he (Nukul) is competition.
From the little I saw, I did not come away with that impression . . . the writer's intent is a little difficult to surmise . . . for the sake of drama, there has to be some tension - be it via an extraneous/superfluous character or not
Yes, Simi is a coward, if she had guts she wouldn't be a sacrificial lamb and she would stand up for herself from day one and refused the marriage even with RB
I found her dilemma to be quite palpable . . . should one not take the entire picture into consideration? All her life she has answered to either authority or let her love for her younger siblings hold sway . . . there was a great deal of ambivalence and wavering on her part vis-a-vis RB (who actually failed to portray himself as the quintessential sleaze - the actor I mean) . . . if one could make all decisions solo, why the need for supporting characters? I think we will see her gradual metamorphosis into someone who will know how/when to stand firm . . .
She hasn't even thanked him for it to this day.
Goodness gracious! She hasn't had a chance! Besides she was an 'ingrate' with her chastising Abhi in the scene you recount because (i) she wasn't conscious of her growing attraction and (ii) truly believed that he was jeopardizing her brother's happiness (the latter berated her to no end about how she was the cause of his ruin 😕)
Remember the scene when her mother gave her options and she (Simi) said she "didn't want to be a burden" and went to the marriage bureau and also apologized to Mrs. Sharma?.
To be honest I do not remember the scene with options . . . but ask yourself this: did she jump thru those hoops fully aware of what was going on with her feelings for A? I would wager not . . . were she now to continue down that path, we'd have a different set of 'facts' to discuss.
Attraction has no meaning in the Seethi household.
We don't know that . . . given that Anuj married Anita . . . uh . . . for what? Money? Nah! So there's one instance. Now there is Neetu and - in my opinion - a slimy Vicky; that looks an awful lot like attraction to me. Mum'n'Dad may have to enter the 21st century awful pronto quick . . .
Even a blind person couldn't be attracted to Rajeev Bhala and the family were so excited about getting Simi married to him.
I think the person who was genuinely pleased was Mrs. Sethi. The others were either repulsed from the outset (Mili), or came to be repulsed when the facts emerged (Dad and Simi), and the remaining 2 had their heads in the ozone . . .
Plus attraction has no meaning in desi households. What's attraction to them? He has a good job and he's from a good home, and you've had 10 plus rejections - what else matters to them??
That may be part of the moral of the story i.e. your kids' happiness has little do with your own expectations and/or social mores - both of which are in serious need of a significant overhaul . . . Mr. Sethi has given me no cause for alarm as yet . . . he has a sound head on his shoulders. You know . . . all of this matters only if our team of writers is cognizant of our desires 😊
Plus she has done nothing for Abhi; she expects from him.
Laila . . . what does Abhi want done for him? I haven't heard him ask for anything . . . besides, everything
aside, he has confessed (ad nauseum) to being her 'best friend' . . . expecting help from a friend is no crime . . .
We have all said, what's there to like in Simi?? Serious. Simi is supposed to be girl rejected by men, so when Abhi falls for her - What is it that Abhi falls for?
This is the conundrum of the millenium . . . what causes people to be attracted to each other? Current explanations recognize that pheromones play a part . . . the other stuff awaits uncovering . . . bread and butter for evolutionary biologists, psychologists and folks of that ilk. So when you 'fall for someone' a detailed analysis of the reasons isn't the first thing you're apt to consider . . .
Will she make enough to support both of them and will Abhi go for it??
Well . . . that depends on whether it's OK with you for him to be one-sided but not her . . . caring for each other can overcome all manner of impediments . . . in theory at least 😊
My suggestion is Simi should just tell her family she's a lesbian. I think that should work
Yeah . . un hunh . . . that should go over real well . . . 'hey . . . maa . . . you may not be ready for my relationship with a younger man (although hardly condemned in our beloved epics) . . . but my being a lesbian should not take you by surprise' 😉

Sounds like you and I are watching two different shows and your take on it is poles are part of mine and my friends here in the US. So again, it doesn't matter if you don't think he is competition, that's what he is meant to be. Also RB revealed himself as a "quintessential sleaze" from day 1. Yes, she is a coward because she never spoke up for her rights. Thinking of others does not mean sacrificing yourself for life and she was too afraid to do anything about it.
She has had ample of occasions to thank him, why focus only on today. And it is a pity you don't remember the scene when she told her mother she didn't want to be a burdent, like the one with RB revealing himself as the quintessential sleaze. It might help you shed light on certain things I have written.
Again attraction has no meaning in the household - let me clarify to you for Simi - if it meant something, they would not have her marry RB, unless you found RB attractive. And no, she has done nothing for Abhi - can you tell me what she has done in the show you have been watching? Plus you still have not explained what it is that attracts Abhi to Simi - no text book hypothetical explanation. What have you seen in the show to make it plausible?

First . . . I'm enjoying this repartee with you 😊 some of the other stuff is truly impenetrable . . .
Sounds like you and I are watching two different shows and your take on it is poles are part of mine and my friends here in the US. So again, it doesn't matter if you don't think he is competition, that's what he is meant to be.
No . . . we're definitely watching the same show . . . but ,not surprisingly, have different perspectives . . . I'm still curious about how you have access to material that I do not . . . I'm out on the West Coast, and we're a week or more behind the stuff being discussed here . . .
So again, it doesn't matter if you don't think he is competition, that's what he is meant to be.
Ah . . . I think I see the source of the misunderstanding . . . of course the character is meant to be competition . . . but given how S&A feel about each other, he poses (or at least ought not to) no threat ergo: no competition.
She has had ample of occasions to thank him, why focus only on today
She's 'thanking him' tacitly . . . she's meeting him halfway in a friendship and has demonstrated considerable concern for his well-being . . . one need not grovel to show gratitude i.e. actions speak louder than words . . .
Also RB revealed himself as a "quintessential sleaze" from day 1.
Sure he did . . . he wasn't sufficiently compelling or convincing tho' . . . from an acting standpoint . . .
Again attraction has no meaning in the household - let me clarify to you for Simi - if it meant something, they would not have her marry RB, unless you found RB attractive.
I buy that . . . one would have to be brain dead to find RB attractive (although his mum would think otherwise) . . . but that said, just because attraction was not mentioned, does not mean that she cannot use that as a legitimate reason . . . she could learn from her mistakes y'know . . .
And no, she has done nothing for Abhi - can you tell me what she has done in the show you have been watching?
The occasion hasn't presented itself . . . what would you have her do? The poor woman has only just extricated herself (oh OK, before you take umbrage, with a LOT of help 😛) from a miserable situation . . . it's only fair that Abhi come thru considering that he started the chase . . . the unsolicited photography comes to mind followed by how terrified he was at the prospect of being caught gazing at them . . .
Plus you still have not explained what it is that attracts Abhi to Simi - no text book hypothetical explanation. What have you seen in the show to make it plausible?
She is like no other woman/girl he has known before . . . she doesn't come across as a 'dumb blonde' . . . her continuing predicaments have really brought out the kinght in shining armor in him . . . he did find her cute at first sight . . . you want everything explicitly spelt out? The writer's chose not to do that because the inexplicable happens in life all the time . . . that was my point . . . one doesn't go about parsing one's rationale in excruciating detail for being in love . . .
I have never before been able to stomach the rest of the drivel that is offered up on Indian TV . . . 'Saloni ka Safar' (or whatever the title was) should have had 'aur aapki suffering' appended to it . . . if nothing else, I thank the KB production staff for having the good sense to show people going to bed without warpaint and jewelry up the gazoo . . . the acting is really quite good . . . and . . . the setting is Delhi, not Mumbai! 😃

In whose eyes? You think Abhi considers him a potential threat?
WOW, you're the only one who didn't think he behavior he exhibited was sleazy and inappropriate?? Oh boy. God help you when you meet a guy.
Maybe my language is too high falutin' . . . let me explain . . . the character was MEANT to be a sleazebag . . . no dispute there . . . the actor did not do a sufficiently convincing job . . . it may have been his lines that did not impress me or his mannerisms . . . the ACTOR did not portray the character to perfection - in my opinion. As to God and help . . . the less said about that the better . . . my days of meeting "guys" are long past . . . thank Gawd!😉

Just 'cause you say so?😊 You did not come back with answer to my assertions about Anuj and Anita, nor about Neetu & Vicky . . . if her parents balk at the idea of her having the capacity to attract & be attractive, then this may be part of the intent behind the show - to tell society that you had best discard your age-old notions . . . they're based entirely on fiction . . .
That't all you can come up with?
Lets see . . . you underlined only part of what I said and threw the rest out the window . . . but in my defense let me tell you: I was surfing the TV channels a couple of days ago and came across the movie 'The Buddy Holly Story' . . . Buddy Holly was one of the founding fathers of RockNRoll and singularly talented . . . he died an untimely death at 22 in an airplane crash . . . so at the start of his career he and his band go to New York (excuse me if you already know this) to meet up with a music producer . . . they show up at the office and the secretary just about has a heart attack (white musicians were hardly ever seen in that office) . . . she doesn't say much just laughs . . . that was it . . .
