Part 43

Anxious Aman rushed in the room. He was chanting loudly on the phone which grabbed Arnav's attention who was busy with his office related work. He purposely avoided from joining them for ski activity as he didn't want to face Khushi. If possible starting from now onwards he wanted to create distance from her. He knew it would be little difficult to trash her from his heart as she already occupied a deep place within him. The only women he had ever loved after his mother was Khushi Malhotra. But his journey with her ended last night after their confrontation and today when she came out from Zain's room, it confirmed him that he did take a right decision by ending their story. He did all the possible way to make her believe that he loves her and he still do even now. Whereas, Khushi rejected him and get engaged with Zain.. She took decision behalf of him by forcing him into a relationship that he can never give his commitment.

During the last few weeks, he was trying his level best to convince Khushi but she was more into her own game plan. Once ending the call Aman looked at Arnav who seem wasn't interested to ask him what had happened. He clearly saw him getting anxious but he least bother to query. Well, for obvious reason Aman couldn't hide the matter from Arnav. He does share some kind of relationship with Khushi but the existences only knew by them.

Aman: "ASR, there is something that I need to tell you.."

Arnav (Still with his laptop): "What?"

Aman: "It's about Khushi... Sh . ." The words sink in Aman's throat when Arnav interrupted rudely.

Arnav: "I don't want to hear.." The words that came from his mouth shocked Aman at such extend that he still couldn't able to believe that the words came from the same man who claimed to love her crazily. He does understand in what term their current relationship was progressing but he didn't expect Arnav to avoid from hearing, even when he already mentioned Khushi's name.

Aman: "ASR . . It's really serious.. Khu -"

Arnav: "Don't talk to me about her.. I'm not interested." He switched off the laptop and stood up to leave.

Aman (Angrily): "What kind of pathetic man you're?! I still can't believe you're the same man who was mourning your loves for her? People change so fast! Well, I shouldn't waste my time by getting into argument with you." Aman walked to the door but halted his steps. "If you've little interest to know then come downstairs, if not? You can go to bed.. I guess you're really tired." Aman disappeared from the room.

Aman's anger raised Arnav's curiosity to know what were happening downstairs. From Aman's word he could guess it might be related to Khushi as Aman was here to inform him but he didn't bother to listen. He did react unbothered just to assure his heart that everything related to Khushi didn't affect him anyway. However, he couldn't sit in the room without knowing the reason of Aman's present here. Certainly, he needed to find out. Arnav took his black sweater and went downstairs.

The hype near the activity area was increasing. The police already arrived but none of them were allowed to enter the slopes premise. The place wasn't safe for anyone. The wind and coldness increased even more during this period of the evening which put a halt for the police to further their duty. They already confirmed through CCTV that Khushi went at the slopes area by breaking the Danger' alert signboard.

Zain: "We can't wait here when she is inside there..!!" He shouted at the on duty police officer.

Officer: "I understand your sentimental Sir, but we can't risk our team's life when we clearly know, the side is dangerous for them. Let the wind -" Been interrupted by a serene voice who was standing just few feet away from the officer and crowds.

Arnav: "What is happening here?" He scanned everyone that presents there. He able to see Krystal Mahi Zain Aman and others too but not Khushi.. Now, that alarmed him that something is terribly wrong here. "Where is Khushi?" He asked looking sharp at Zain and Aman who were silent. Mahi rushed to her brother and started to narrate the incident with sobs escaping in between her words.

Mahi: "Bhai, Khushi is missing since last 4 hours."

Arnav (Almost whispering): "What?"

Mahi: "We saw from the CCTV that she went inside the slope area, breaking the security. The officers have to put stop their mission due to the wind and that place wasn't safe for anyone yet. She might be shivering inside as she wasn't well too. Bhai, I'm worried for her. Just for finding the BRACELET she lost, she risked her life." Arnav's breath hitched in fear. His hands were shaking after learning that Khushi's life is in danger now. And the reason behind it was the bracelet that he gave her?

However, he couldn't wait here without doing anything. He needed to save her, anyhow. The longer she stay at the cold slope the worst her healthy might be effected. Without bothering anyone, he walked towards the gate but been stopped by the duty officers.

Officer: "I'm sorry Sir, you're not allowed to go in." Arnav pushed the officer who tried to stop him.

Arnav: "Fu*k off..!" He pushed the uniform men aggressively.

Officer: "Sir, try to understand.. The slope side is not safe for anyone. We can't permit you."

Arnav(Angrily): "For God damned..! There is one human trapped inside there. How can you except me to calm down when Khushi is battling with danger..?!" Few Officers already surrounded Arnav as he was getting violence by pushing them. "Just let me go inside DAMN IT..!!" He shouts in intensely.

Aman: "ASR.. Calm down. We know you're worried but let's don't create more trouble." He tried to control the situation. Unfortunately . . . ?!

Arnav: "Of course I'm worried Aman.. Because I Love her.."

Hell?! That created buzz in Krystal Mahi and Zain's mind. They were shocked surprised with all the mix emotions were probably ruining in their nerves. Krystal was aware that Arnav loved someone else but she didn't know it was Khushi as Khushi was always neutral. In fact, Khushi didn't even show any kind of reaction whenever she talks about Arnav. She was calm and unaffected. Whereas, Zain was sailing in the same boat with Krystal.. He least expected the men would be Arnav Singh Raizada. Even, after Arnav disclosed about his feeling for Khushi but yet Zain was taken back. Because, Khushi and Arnav had never showed such gesture where the other could doubt.. They behaved normally as nothing happened between them. Meanwhile, Mahi had lost of words. A lot of question running in her mind but this wasn't suitable period to find the answers.

Aman: "I know ASR.. Just let the police do their work.. Okey?" Aman hugged Arnav in away to soothe his pain and worries.

Arnav: "I'm sorry.. I shouldn't behave rudely with you in the room?" Aman patted his best friend shoulders. Somewhere he could guess something were off between Arnav and Khushi.

Aman: "It's okey ASR.. I understand." He already knew Arnav since long and his mood swing weren't new to him.

Arnav: "She will be safe na Aman?" He asked just to assure his heart.

Aman: "With God grace she will be.."

Nearly, 30 minutes passed with Khushi still trapped at the slopes site. Whereas, the police were waiting for the winds and coldness to ease a bit before they could start their searching process. Meanwhile, Arnav was getting restless. He can't wait with others without do anything. While at the other path of the gate, anything could happen to Khushi. She was already ill. Upon, the weather worsted the situation even more. He was looking for the opportunity to go inside and search Khushi by his own. However, the securities weren't moving from the gate. Arnav kept his eyes on them and that's when the team had been called by their chief, little far from the gate. Arnav took the opportunity and rushed inside leaving the entire eye dumbstruck.

Aman: "ASR..??? Shit..!" He cursed beneath his breath.

The slopes area was freezing cold. The wind was creating difficulty for Arnav to see properly. The place was probably little dark from brightness.

Arnav: "Khushi..." He shouted her name numerous times so that she would able to give her feedback if she heard him. However, the voice was left unattended. Arnav keep walking through the slopes with his eye widen open. His neck turn left and right with his mouth keep screaming her name.

The moment his eye turns at the upper side of the slopes? He ran immediately. Khushi was crawling on the ground with her palms searching the bracelet in between the snow. However, the minute Arnav reached her? He grabbed her arm and makes her stand on her feet.

Arnav: "What the hell you are doing here? Have you gone nuts?!!" He screamed on top of his voice. Anger was probably boiling in him. And not a word came out from Khushi's mouth. Her lip was trembling in cold. Even her skin was looking pale as she was here in between the snows for longer hours. "Let's go out from here.. You're not well.."

Khushi: "NO.. I won't go." She said in between her trembling lips.

Arnav (Eying her): "You're going to listen to me and that's final..!" He had worn. Today he needed to put a full stop on her stubbornness. Enough is enough!!

Khushi: "You are not my husband, you are not my boyfriend anymore, we are not friend either..! Don't try to impose on me.." Even during her illness, she was capable to fight with him. Does she need energy for that?

Arnav: "Enough Khushi..! Just stop it.." He shouts. Khushi waved his grip and took few steps backward.

Khushi: "I won't go. Not until I succeed for the reason I am here." He was literally pissed off with her behaviour..!!

Arnav: "Bracelet?" She stared him. "That bracelet already meet his end.. Now let's move..!" He grabbed her wrist and was about to pull her but she pushed him angrily.

Khushi: "I'm not coming.. Not until I find my bracelet.. You can leave. I don't need you..!" She taunted his present and that irked him even more.

Arnav: "Why the hell you need that bracelet now when you already trashed the love I wanted to give you?? For God sake stop this drama and follow me out from here now..!" He pounced. It didn't take a second for Khushi to shed tears from her eye. The pain in her chest was ripping her off. The wound was unbearable. She did risk her life by coming here to find the bracelet but he was blaming her by saying that she was creating drama??!!

Khushi: "If I trashed that love I'll never return here to be reason for my own death. You don't need to favour me. You can just go to your fiance." She wiped her tears with her palm. But in that process, Arnav saw the bandage on her hand. He didn't know she hurt her hand? But when? And how?

Arnav: "Your hand . . What happen to your hand?" He asked nervously.

Khushi: "Nothing..!!" Arnav clenched his fist in frustration. Why the heck she needed to have this kind of nature? Stubborn and stone headed..!!

Arnav: "Khushi look, we need to go out from here. This place is not safe for you and either me.. We need to get a Doctor for you. You are sick.. Please listen to me just for once.. Please." If by scolding it wasn't working then he tried soft way. Who knew it might work?

Khushi: "I want that Bracelet back Arnav.." He sighs..! Arnav walked near her and pulled his jacket down to wrap her in that material.

Arnav: "We will find that together.. But before that you need to wear this.." She didn't protest which signed him that she agreed. Arnav make her wear the sweater before they started their own mission to find the bracelet that he gave to her once which held a deep meaning to Khushi.

They searched through the snows with their body crawling in between the ice. Arnav tried to find at the left side whereas, Khushi took the right. In between the search, he keeps checking on Khushi as he could see her health was draining. And at the same time, he understood that she won't leave this place unless she found the bracelet..!

Khushi's sudden scream shocked Arnav. He stood up only to find Khushi standing on her feet with the bracelet in her hand tickling with the wind. She found at the place where she was playing with Mahi at daytime. Probably, the chain might slip from her wrist which she didn't realize. But now after holding the bracelet in her hand, reflect of satisfaction clearly visible on her face.

Khushi: "I - F.. fou - nd - it.." She stammered with her lips trembling badly. They were dry. But she didn't let the smile fade from her face. Even when her body wasn't supporting her anymore.. Khushi collapsed on the ground in front of Arnav's eye who was stunt and afraid to see her lying on the ground. Lifeless!
