Episode 38

Everyone is in a hotel ballroom setting up things for Manisha and Arjun parents' anniversary. Manisha calls everyone to group up.

Manisha: (talking to Arjun) so how's everything going is everything going is everything set.

Arjun: Everything is done, except the food, they working on it. Or everything is set.

Manisha: That's good. I want mom and dad anniversary to be perfect.

Arjun: I do too.

Manisha: ok now let's go home and get ready for the party. (Talking to Anurag) Please wear the kurta. I brought for you.

Anurag: (bowing) yes my majesty.

Manisha: Thanks (talking fast and pushing everyone out) Ok what are you looking at. Come on lets get going the party's tonight not tomorrow.

Everyone leaves. Later on everyone meets at Manisha house.

Anurag: What is taking them so long?

Arjun: you know girls, they like dress up.

Manisha: (at the top of the stairs) Oh boys (everyone looks up. She comes down the stairs as a queen in a royal ball) How do I look.

Anurag, Arjun, and Mitesh smile at Manisha. Pritem stares at Manisha, as if this was the first time he had fell in love with her. Mitesh blows a whistle which brings Pritem back to reality.

Pritem: (shyly) Beautiful

Anurag: (grabbing Manisha hand) Beautiful (Anurag kisses her hand and begins to turn her. In front of her)

Pritem feels bad but gives a weak smile. Anurag stops and looks away.

Arjun: now what's taking Priya so long?

Manisha: nothing causes there she is (pointing to the top of the stairs)

Anurag turns his head to look up at Priya. He feels as if everything has stopped around him. Priya shyly walks down the stairs, looking at the floor. Everyone looks at Priya with amazement. Arjun gives a huge smile to Priya. Anurag stills seem to have blocked out everything as he watches Priya walk up to Arjun. Priya slaps Arjun on the arm and the heavenly quietness around Anurag shatters.

Mitesh: Forget Arjun. Priya you look good, you too Manisha.

Manisha: Thank you. Let's go.

Arjun: yeah we should its getting dark and it's far from here.

Everyone heads to the door. Priya stops.

Priya: you guys get the car started I'll be back in a sec.

Manisha: ok

Priya goes back inside. After a minute

Manisha: what is taking her so long?

Anurag: I'll go see.

Anurag goes inside to see Priya, praying. Anurag goes behind Priya and puts his eyes together and closes his eyes.

Anurag: (praying) hey God, I haven't talked to since I was like - five. Anyways, I'm not here for me, like you're ever going to give me anything. I'm here for Priya. She a sweet and caring girl so please give her whatever she wants.

Anurag continues to pray as Priya turns and sees Anurag praying. Priya smiles as she sees Anurag quiet and calm. Anurag opens his eyes slowly. Priya and Anurag stare at each other. Priya gets an image of Manisha in her mind and looks away from Anurag, heart broken. Anurag looks away as well.

Anurag: Um we - we should get going. Manisha is waiting.

Priya: yeah

While walking out

Anurag: what were you praying for?

Priya: I can't. You shouldn't tell anyone what you're praying for.

Anurag: But why

Priya: Nazar na -

Anurag: (cutting her off) Oh I get it.

Anurag and Priya get into the car and leave to go back to the hotel.

Manisha: Ok the guest will begin to come in 15 minutes and Pritem parents will bring my parents at 7.

The guest begins to come in. it turns 6:58.

Manisha: (onstage with Arjun and everyone else) Excuse me everyone may I have your attention. My parents might be coming any minutes. (Giving the mike to Arjun)

Arjun: So the lights will go off for the surprise. Thank you.

Manisha and Pritem parents are walking towards the ballroom.

Arjun: (yelling) Lights.

The lights go off. Manisha and Arjun parents open the door and walk in.

Vikram [Manisha n Arjun father]: Mohan [Pritem's father] why is it dark in here.

Mohan: I don't know.

The lights go on and everyone scream surprise.

Manisha and Arjun: happy anniversary mom and dad.

A banner falls opening a picture of Neha and Vikram on their wedding day, on top of Manisha and Arjun. Neha gets shy and hides her face by hugging Vikram. Vikram and Neha walk towards the stage.

Both: (hugging Manisha and Arjun) this is really a surprise. Thank you beta (still holding on to Arjun and Manisha, talking to Priya, Pritem, Mitesh, and Anurag) Thanks you. (Turning to the audience) Thank you.

Everyone: you welcome (yelling) lets party.

Mitesh goes and runs to get champagne and hands it to Vikram. Vikram shakes the bottle and pops it open. After pouring the champagne everyone begins to dance. One by one everyone gives their own performance. First Manisha and Arjun dancing to the song 'Mama ko Papa se papa ko mommy se pyar hai'. Next it was Mitesh singing along with Manisha and Arjun parents performing to Meri Makhna Meri Soniye from Baghban. Anurag and Pritem dancing and singing to 'whose That Girl from Dus to Manisha mom. After a few minutes

Manisha: so Priya what are you going to do.

Priya: do what? Where?

Manisha: your performance.

Priya: Performance!?! I didn't practice anything.

Manisha: what?

As Manisha continues to talk to Priya Anurag gets a idea and goes up on stage.

Anurag: (on the mike) ladies and gentlemen. The next performance is not a dance number, our dearest friend, Priya, will be singing a song.

The lights shine on Priya. Priya gets shocked and looks up at Anurag who's wickedly smiling.

Priya goes up on stage.

Priya: (walking towards Anurag, whispering) What is this?

Anurag: Payback for the day we when shopping for the kurta. (Handing her the mike) have fun

Priya: ok (taking the mike. Anurag is about to walk off the stage) Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm not going to be singing alone. Along with me will be (with pride) Mr. Anurag Kapoor. (Starts to clap. Anurag stops and turns to Priya. Priya gives him the same smile that he gave her before. He walks up to her) If I'm going down, you're going down with me.

Anurag: you might not know but I'm a good singer.

Priya: whatever (on the mike) I would first like too warn all you before I start to sing. That I don't know what song the D.J. is about to play and I'm completely unprepared for this. So if I forget a few words or if I break a couple of glass (everyone laughs), forgive me.

Anurag: (taking the mike from the D.J. on the mike) same here

Anurag looks at Priya, who looks scared. Anurag laughs and signals the D.J. to put on the song.

The D.J.: This is the instrumental from the song Bole Chudiyan Bole Kangna from K3G.

Priya: (singing) Bole chudiyan, bole kangna
Haai main ho gayi teri saajna
Tere bin jiyo naiyo lag da main te margaiya. (Stops singing during the chorus) Kyun bolti band ho gayi.
People start to dance as Priya and Anurag sing. After the song

Priya: Thank you very much. Enjoy the party.

Priya and Anurag get off the stage to reunite with everyone else.

Manisha: (running towards them) oh my god you guys were amazing. You sounded like professional.

Anurag and Priya: thanks

Arjun, Mitesh, and Pritem reach them.

Pritem: damn son I knew you could sing. But this well

Mitesh: you sang better then the original singer. Metaphorically speaking

Anurag and Priya start to laugh.

Arjun: (talking to Priya) the funny thing is that a devil like her has a voice of a angel.

Priya: (walking towards Arjun, as Arjun walk backwards away from her) what do you mean a devil like me.

Arjun: simple you're a devil

Priya: I'm a devil.

Arjun: yeah

Pritem: oh god here they go again.

Priya begins to run behind Arjun. Arjun then hided behind a pole Priya unable to find him walks backwards towards him.

Arjun: (jumping out from behind the pole) boo

Priya: (gets scared and screams Ahhh (turning around) Arjun. (Hitting him) don't you ever do that again? - Stupid (stops hitting him).

Arjun: sorry (Priya gets mad and turns her back on him. Arjun grabs her and turns her around) sorry.

Priya puts on a smile and hugs him. Everyone mouth drops open as they watch them from the distance.

Mitesh: am I seeing things or is Priya and Arjun hugging.

Anurag feels heartbroken and looks away.

Manisha: their finally friends. Now there are two things to celebrate. My parents' anni and their friendship.

Priya: (walking towards them) Friendship!?!

Manisha: Tumhare aur Arjun ke.

Arjun puts his hand around Priya. Priya grabs onto his hand. Anurag see this.

Anurag: (sad) I'll be back (he walks towards the bathroom)

As Anurag leaves Jyoti comes in.

Jyoti: (continuously whispering as she looks at Mitesh) looking good baby

Mitesh: (thinking) oh god not her. (Making pretend someone is calling him) coming.

Jyoti: (grabbing his arm) no one's calling you. (Looking at Priya and Arjun) when did this happen.

Arjun: what

Jyoti: (still holding on to Mitesh) you and Priya boyfriend and girlfriend.

Priya: no we're just friends

Arjun: yeah because I have someone else in mind. (Whispering in Priya's ear) now look how jealous Mitesh gets.

Manisha: who?

Arjun walks to Jyoti and pulls Jyoti hand away from Mitesh.

Arjun: may I have this dance.

Jyoti: looks beyond Arjun shoulder to Priya, who makes a sign to go as she lays her hand on her chest.

Jyoti leaves with Arjun to go dance. Mitesh slowly begins to feel mad and jealous but tries to keep himself cool.

While this was happening Anurag is in the bathroom alone.

Anurag: (having flashback of Arjun and Priya. Thinking) what the hell is going on with me? Why can't I see them together? Am I in - No I can't Manisha is my girlfriend. She loves me and I (pauses) love her (trying to think of Manisha, but somehow ends up thinking about Priya)
While that was happening Mitesh begins to boil up with jealous as Manisha, Pritem, and Priya watch him.

Mitesh: I'll be right back.

Manisha: yeah go cool down.

Mitesh: what?

Manisha: (smiling) nothing. Go.

Mitesh walks to the bathroom. While he walks to the bathroom. Anurag gets mad and punches the mirror. Mitesh opens the door and sees this.

Mitesh: (yells) Anurag what the - are you crazy?

Anurag: (his hand begins to bleed) huh? I don't know - I just - don't know.

Mitesh: what? Forget it. You need to see a doctor.

Anurag: naaa it O.K. I'll just wash it with water and bandage it. It's nothing.

Anurag washes of the blood and finds the first aid box under the sink and begins to bandage himself.

Anurag: I'm ok let's go.

Mitesh and Anurag walk back. Everyone get shocked after seeing his hand.

Manisha: what happen?

Anurag: nothing

Pritem: nothing. What did you do that you're bleeding.

Anurag: nothing. Yo let it go. Where's Arjun and Priya?

Jyoti: where else upstairs together.

Anurag looks upstairs.

Manisha: ok lets go dance (Manisha grabs Anurag hand and opens his bandages) I'm so sorry, lets go to the doctor.

Anurag: no I got it. I go bandage it. You guys go ahead and dance.

Anurag leaves Manisha looks at Anurag, worried.

Pritem: (talking to Manisha) he'll be alright. Let's go.

Manisha goes and dances with Mitesh. Pritem goes and dances with Jyoti. After bandaging himself Anurag leaves the bathroom. Anurag see everyone having fun. So he slips upstairs unnoticed and looks room to room for Priya and Arjun.

Meanwhile, Priya is helping Arjun find his gift.

Priya: (looking in the draws) where you put the gift.

Arjun: (looking under the bed) Raj told me he put it in this room, but didn't tell me exactly where.

Priya: can't find it in the draws. I'll check in the closet.

Arjun: (getting up) I'll check the bathroom. (Priya stops and looks at him) it was just a guess. (Arjun goes into the bathroom)

Priya: (walking towards the closet) paagal

Arjun: (in the bathroom) yeah for you.

Priya: (looking in the closet) shut up

Anurag is a door away from the room.

Priya goes to pick up a stool and puts it in front of the closet. Anurag opens the door and watch's Priya outside the room, unnoticed. Priya stool begins to wobble and Priya is about to fall off.

Anurag runs into the room to grab her. But she falls into Arjun arm.

Priya: oh my god -thank you.

Arjun: (holding her like a baby) this is how you thank a guy who just saved you… again.

Priya: yeh Ok now let me down.

Arjun: nope, I like you this way, you being close to me.

Anurag coughs to let him know that he was in the room. Arjun looks over at Anurag and puts down Priya.

Priya: (about to say something but sees Anurag bleeding) what happen to your hand. (Grabbing his bleeding hand)

Anurag: (a flashback of Anurag hitting his hand against the door as he runs into the room to save Priya) it's nothing don't worry.

Priya: (mad) don't worry. You're bleeding and you're telling me not to worry. (Pulling him) go sit on the bed and I'll bandaged it for you.

Anurag: sits on the bed as Priya searches for the first aid box. Arjun gets a phone call.

Arjun: (on the phone) hello Mami. Ok ek minute. (Off the phone) I'll be right back, call for my mom.

Anurag: ok

Arjun leaves. Priya comes out of the bathroom.

Priya: their have everything in the bathroom (throwing the remote on the bed.) even the remote. (sitting down) where's Arjun?

Anurag: phone call for his mom.

Priya: oh ok

Priya unwrapped  the bandage and cleans of the blood with a wet towel and takes out a bottle of alcohol.

Anurag: (taking his hand away) no not that it stings.

Priya: (grabbing his hand) stop being a baby and give me your hand.

Anurag: (pulls his hand back) no Priya it hurts

Priya: (about to put the alcohol on, pulling his hand) baby.

Anurag: (pulls his hand harder along with Priya) no (Priya falls on Anurag. Priya left herself off of Anurag slowly) sorry.

Priya: it's ok

Anurag looks at Priya face as she reapplies the alcohol on cotton then on to his hand. Priya begins to bandage his hand.

Priya: see did that hurt.

Anurag: huh what

Priya: the alcohol.

Anurag: you put it on already.

Priya: yeah! Why you didn't feel it.

Anurag: no

Arjun walks in

Arjun: did you find it.

Priya: (finishing the bandaging) no

Anurag: find what?

Arjun: a gift to my parents.

Anurag: (pointing to a table on the side) is that it.

Arjun: (turns around) yeah thanks

Priya: (putting everything in the box and back into the bathroom) Paagal, it was right in front of you and you didn't see it.

Arjun: (playing with the box) Yeah I did. It's just that I wanted to spend time with you.

Priya: (coming out of the bathroom) shut up, Arjun.

Anurag: (Mad. getting up) Ab chalaya!

The three leave and unite with everyone. Everyone continues to party. After the party finishes all the guest leave.

Manisha: mommy, papa, we booked room for all of us. Your room is 219. (Giving them the keys)

Neha: what about you beta, aren't you coming.

Arjun: No Mommy we're going to hang out a while then go to sleep.

Vikram: ok but don't stay up to long. Thanks for the party again kids.

Arjun and Manisha parents leave. Everyone hangs out and later go to sleep.
