EPISODE – 36

 

She kept tossing in her bed. Sleep eluded her eyes... her dreamy eyes. She could still feel Rajveer's face coming close to hers, his lips brushing hers', his passion, his touch, his confessions, his concern, his.... Did he say love? NO! She got up and sat on her bed thinking about the only confession he didn't make or rather they didn't. She kept pondering how those words from him would sound like.... How would he say them to her... How would she react to it... How would she say it to him!

 

"Ouch!" She cried.

She has unintentionally, lost in her thoughts, digged her finger into the bite on her neck. She got up and stood in front of the mirror and bared her love bite. For the first time ever to her a wound didn't look ugly. She ran her finger softly over it and she could feel his touch there.

 

She realized she is loosing it completely thinking about him. She again crashed back into her bed trying to sleep but as she closed her eyes his face would appear... Flaunting his naughty smirk.... Eyes dazzling with endless warmth.

 

"What the hell are you doing with me Raj?" She again sat up talking to herself quite irritably. She picked up her mobile and scrolled down to his name in the phone book, but could not dial the number. She didn't know what she would tell him if he picks up the call.

'Or may be he is sleeping... He is supposed to take proper rest. Huh! Sleeping?? How can he sleep having robbed off mine?'

 

Many thoughts crossed her mind and her heart but she finally decided not to call him. He needed rest.

Rajveer's condition, how he wished, was any different. But it was not. He stood in the balcony feeling the soft breeze over his face that reminded him of the softness of Naina's skin. His eyes had no traces of sleep. He looked lost. His face wore a big smile. He closed his eyes and leaned his head against the wall. He wanted to hold her again, kiss her again, adore her again and love her again. Just a few moments of togetherness were not enough. They can never be. He wanted her in front of him for every single moment of his life.... Or rather their life.

"Do you still want me to tell you how much I love you! Words can never explain that Naina." He was talking to himself.

 

He returned to his bedroom and took out a photo album. It was filled with lots of pictures of Navin, Neetika and.... Naina. It had all the pictures right from his first visit to Delhi with Navin when he met Naina for the first time. He clicked Naina's pictures from his mobile phone and pushed away the album. He spent rest of his night scrolling down those photographs and remembering every single moment they have spent together... From her first kiss on his cheek when they met for the first time that had made him blush to the passionate kiss of this night which has given an altogether new dimension to their relationship.

She closed her eyes firmly to curb her excitement and nervousness as she turned the door knob of Rajveer's cabin.

 

"Hi!" She said softly wearing a big smile as she entered but that smile could not last for long. Her smile was replaced by a frown.

"Oh! Hi Naina!" Rajveer answered.

 

Naina was staring at the lady in uniform standing next to him with one of her hand on his shoulder. They apparently were laughing on something just the moment before she has entered. Rajveer noticed her frown and to some extent the reason for that.

 

"Naina... meet Captain Maya Shergill. And Captain Shergill, she is Naina."

"Hey Naina!" She greeted her cheerfully.

Naina forced a fake little smile on her face.

"Hi!"

"Your voice sounds somewhat familiar."

"Of course! She is an RJ. You must have heard her many a times." Rajveer told her.

"Oh my god! RJ Naina from Radio Mirchi.... I have heard you a lot. Actually my brother is a big fan of yours."

"So sweet." Naina was in no mood to talk to her especially since her hand was still resting on Rajveer's shoulder. But that wasn't all. The very next moment she found another reason to go mad.

 

Maya was whispering something in his ear on which he was smiling and also a little blushing. He smiled back at her without any word and she winked.

"Mujhe kuch kaam hai... I'll take your leave. See you later Naina. Bye."

Naina didn't even reply her this time but continued to gaze furiously at Rajveer.

 

"Bad manners Naina. Kam se kam use bye to bol hi sakti thi tum." Rajveer said playfully having successfully read her expressions.

" Bura nahin lagega use."

"Aur agar laga to?"

"Tumhein badi fikr hai."

"Of course ab aadha din to main office mein hi bitata hoon... you know uske saath... Can't afford to upset her. She is such a sweetheart." He said hiding his smirk.

"Fine then jaa ke mana lo usko. Main jaa rahi hoon." She turned to leave. But he stopped her pulling her by hand.

"I was just joking! Baitho."

 

He locked the door and returned to Naina who was still standing. He held her from behind pulling her into himself.

"I said I was joking."

She remained quiet.

"Waise mujhe aisa kyun lag raha hai that you are jealous."

"Why should I be jealous?"

"Kal raat jo hua uske baad bhi do I have to tell you that?"

 

She blushed.

"Woh yahan kya kar rahi thi?"

"Kaam tha."

"Kaam? Huh! Ais bhi kya kaam tha?"

She whispered ender her breath.

"What?"

"Kuch nahin! Kya keh rahi thi woh tumhare kaan mein?"

He remained quiet for a while.

"BOLO!" She yelled.

"I can't believe tum itni jealous ho sakti ho."

"I am not jealous!"

"Liar!" He said planting a kiss on her shoulder."Mujhe khush karne ke liye hi keh accept kar leti that you are..."

"Why should I? Aur tumhein khush karnein ke liye usne kaha to tha kuch tumhare kaan mein. You were going red on hearing that crap."

"Crap? Tumhein kaise pata ki woh crap tha?"

"Mujhe pata hai."

 

She patted gently on her head.

"You know what... Woh keh rahi thi ki my girlfriend is quite hot! But ab tumhein lagta hai ki it was crap to phir..."

"No Way!"

He smiled.

"Ab to maan lo you were jealous."

"Okay maan liya ki I was.... SO?"

"So..." He said tightening his grip around her waist. He has began to caress her waist and rubed his cheek against hers'

 

"Red suits you a lot!"

She blushed as she looked down on her red halter top.

"Not just the red of your dress..."

She looked back at him.

"Then?"

"The red of your cheek when you blush, the red on your nose when you are angry, the red in your eyes when you don't sleep for the whole night may be, I guess, thinking about me, the red of your skin when I bite you!"

Saying this he he bared her neck where he had bit her yesterday which was now conveniently hidden under her halter neck. He ran his lips on it and kissed it. He then shifted his lips upwards kissing gently on her chin, her cheeks, her eye lids and then her forehead.

 

"Waise tum bhi kal raat soye nahin... Haina?"

"Koi shaq."

She smiled and bit her lips.

 

He turned her to face him and pushed her to the table. She could not, somehow, manage to look directly into his eyes and lowered her own. Rajveer waited for her to look up but when she didn't he commanded her in a soft yet commanding tone.

"Naina look up."

And she did. They looked into each other's eyes and after a few seconds he reached her lips. He kissed them tenderly and gradually deepened it increasing the fervor though not high as the last night because they both knew very well where they were standing at that moment and they could not afford to allow themselves to forget everything else than their love.

 

He kissed her on her cheeks and on her neck incessantly for a while before he returned to her lips for another profound kiss that lasted longer than the previous one. Their lips parted but they could not part themselves. They stood in each other's tight embrace until someone knocked the door. He gestured her to sit and opened the door. It was an order lee who needed his signature on something urgent. He did that and dismissed him and came inside taking a seat next to her.

 

"I forgot to ask... Aaj meri yahan pe bahut thorough checking hui thi enter karne se pehle. Why is it so?"

"Just routine."

"Routine? Main yahan pehle bhi kitni baar aayi hoon but aise to kabhi checking nahin hui."

"Yahan enter karne se pehle humein bhi checking karwani padti hai Naina. Just some revised guidelines. That's all!"

"Is that actually all?"

"There is more to it but accustom urself for that if you want to come here. Or otherwise do one thing... Keep a copy of my house keys."

"You are diverting the topic."

"Naina there is nothing that you need to know. Trust me."

"Is that mission of yours over?"

"Our job never ends so easily Naina!" He sighed after a small pause.
