Chapter 16

 

EPISODE – 28

 

Rajveer and Naina were siting on the bed with their heads lowered, in the outhouse. Neetika was standing next to them looking a bit upset with them while Navin was pacing to and fro in the room trying to calm himself down or else find out what exactly he should do with them.

 

"I still can't believe you both actually did all this." Neetika finally broke the silence prevailing in the room.

"Mujhe pehle hi samajh jaana chahiye tha ki yeh dono kuch gadbad karne waale hain. Tabhi to itne pyaar se humein chabhi di gayi thi."

Navin was literally shouting.

 

"Tum dono ki pehli aur aakhri shaadi thi... Itni aasani se kaise jaane dete." Rajveer's voice was almost a murmur but Navin heard that clearly.

"Raj just shut up or I will kill you!"

Navin was still shouting but a hint of innocence and mischief in Rajveer's words made Neetika's lip twitch at the end in a suppressed smile. He was sounding a bit like Naina who was quite surprisingly very quiet. She didn't make even a single attempt to defend herself or calm Navin down, which was very unusual on her part.

 

"Tum dono se main Delhi mein hi baat karoonga. As of now just pack your bags and SCOOT!"

Navin left the room and slammed the door behind him with a lound bang. Naina jerked as she heard that sound and finally looked up. A tear rolled down her cheek. She was looking blankly at the door for a few seconds and then she turned to Neetika. Neetika was quite amused at her reaction but Naina mistook it as her anger. She ran out of the outhouse.

 

Neetika and Rajveer were left behind, confused at Naina's reaction.

"Ise kya ho gaya?" Neetika asked him.

"Yeh dono bhai-behen kab kya karte hain samajh mein aata hai kya kabhi jo aaj samajh aayega."

"Jaise tum bahut seedhe aur shareef ho." She said slapping hard on his arm. He chuckled.

"Acha now just shut up and tum isko dekho main Navin ko dekhti hoon."

"Okay."

 

As Neetika was about to leave Rajveer stopped her.

"Sorry!" For the first time he sounded serious.

"You should be... But I guess mujhe or rather humein tum dono ki shararaton ki aadat pad gayi hai."

"But Navin is baar serious lag raha hai... Kuch zyada hi."

"I'll handle him. And you don't have to worry. Delhi pahuchne tak to woh sab kuch bhool bhi jaayega."

"I hope so!"

She just smiled back at him and left. Rajveer remained inside hoping Naina will comeback as soon as she finds that both Navin & Neetika have left.

 

He waited for around 10 minutes and when she didn't return, left to check her. He found her standing all alone in a lonely corner of the lawn.

 

"Tum yahan ho... Main kab se tumhein dhoondh raha hoon."

"Kyun?" She asked him wiping her tears.

"Come on Naina.... Ab shararat karenge to daant to padegi hi na. Ismein rone waali kya baat hai? Aur phir galti tumhari hi. Tumne apna phone ringer pe kyun rakha tha."

 

She was again in tears.

"Kal subah jab maine apna cell check kiya tha to uspe Alekh ke 42 missed calls the."

"What?"

"Haan. I called him back to usne kaha ki woh meeting main hai and he'll call me back. He was sounding very upset with me. Isliye maine mera cell ringer pe rakha tha. I thought ki he'll call me in an hour or two but he didn't aur phir main bhool gayi. Ab bhi Alekh ki hi call thi. But you disconnected it. Ab woh mera phone nahin utha raha hai. Upar se Bhaiyya Bhabhi bhi gussa hai. Everyone is upset with me."

Saying this she broke down into sobs. He stepped forward and took her in his arms.

 

"Naina relax. Tum to jaanti ho na Navin ko... Thodi der mein apne aap shaant ho jaayega. And then main hoon na tumhare saath and even Niti isnt upset."

"Lekin Alekh."

"Hum Delhi to jaa hi rahe hai na. Wahin jaa ke usse baat kar lena... face to face. If he really cares for you, to kab tak naaraaz rahega. Woh bhi maan jaayega... Okay!"

 

She stopped sobbing. "Okay."

They left but they didn't know that Navin has been watching them from terrace. They returned to the outhouse and packed their bags.

 

Half an hour later, Navin and Neetika came there.

"Bags pack ho gaye tum dono ke?" Neetika asked them.

"Haan." Naina answered and turned to Navin.

"Bhaiyya... woh..."

"Maine Maa ko phone kiya tha and she said ki tu Goa gayi hai apne doston ke saath, reunion ke liye."

"Bhaiyya aapne maa ko to nahin bataya na..." She cut him in between.

"Maine maa ko bata diya...."

Naina looked petrified on hearing that and even Rajveer was displeased. Navin continued after a somewhat prolonged pause,

"...Ki hum dono bhi tujhe join karne wahin jaa rahe hain."

 

His grave expressions turned into a wide grin. Neetika was also smiling.

"What?" Naina thought she had heard it wrong.

"Yes my dear little brat.... Ab keh hi diya hai Maa-Baba ko to ghoom aate hain Goa se. Ek choti si vacation hum chaaron ke liye... Meri taraf se."

Naina went to him and clung to him tightly.

"You are the best Bhaiyya in this world."

"That I know!" He pulled her cheeks.

 

"Bhaiyya aap upset to nahin ho na?"

"Tha... But ab nahin hoon. I am so used to for this sweet little nuisance around me that I was actually missing you!"

"Lekin aap dono ka honeymoon?"

"Ab jab tum dono ne ise bigaad hi diya hai to zara saleeke se bigaada jaye. Waise yeh short vacation tum dono ke liye hai... Hum dono uske baad extended vacation pe jaayenge aur woh bhi tum dono ko location bataaye bina."

"I love you Bhaiyya! And you too Bhabhi!" Naina went to Neetika and gave her a warm tight hug.

"Sorry!" She said to Neetika making an innocent face.

"Not a problem."

 

"Acha tum dono chalo, main aur Raj samaan le ke aate hain. Cab is waiting outside." Navin interrupted them.

"Okay Bhaiyya."

 

As they left Navin turned to Rajveer. His face intense again.

"Any problem with her?"

Rajveer told him about Alekh's issue.

"Maine to pehle hi kaha tha ki..."

"Haan haan pata hai. Ab apna yeh anti-Alekh drive band kar aur chal."

 

Naina literally forgot about her issues with Alekh as they took the first flight out to Goa. They checked in into one of the most luxurious hotel near a beach. All of their rooms were sea facing.

 

After reaching the hotel, Naina did try to call Alekh t he didn't answer any of her call. She sent her hundreds of SMSes but she was sure he wasn't reading them either and finally he switched off his cell.

 

Meanwhile Neetika came to call her for a stroll and she spent her entire evening with all of them allowing Alekh to take a backseat for one more time. After dinner and extra long sessions of chats and gossips she returned to her room after 11 and crashed on her bed.
