Part 9

Angad lay on the bonnet of his car overlooking the city, he had driven endlessly for an hour taking left anf right turns as they came, he had no idea where he wanted to go or where he was going, he just wanted to be alone, he had soon found himself driving along a deserted road and due to how tired he was feeling, had decided to stop driving and found himself a nice spot on the edge of a cliff.

It was still fairly dark for the early hours of the morning, Kripa would still be asleep, so was half of the world, yet Angad lay awake contemplating what had happened. How had he let it happen, Kripa was Aditya's love, he had no right to take advantage of her losing her memory, but it wasn't his fault was it? He got carried away, he swayed in the waterfall of emotions that were going through him at that time, it was no fault of his that he had spent a night with Kripa, he was human after all, but what would happen when Kripa got her memory back? She would hate him, she would think he took advantage of her, but she  had kissed him too, she had consented it too.

Angad sighed, he was in a huge dilemma, he couldn't go back and face Kripa because the guilt was killing him inside, but he couldn't stay out all night because Kripa would be worried. He was confused, he didn't know whether what happened in the night was right or wrong, but it felt right at the time but did that make it right? He needed someone to talk to, he didn't want to go to Neha because he knew she wouldn't talk to him, he couldn't talk to his friends, they wouldn't understand, he wanted to talk to Adi but Adi wasn't there, Angad hadn't felt more alone any other day than he did that night.

Angad closed his eyes as he felt rain drops on his face, he sighed and got off the bonnet and sat in the car, the rain began beating heavily against the windows, Angad flicked the switch for the window wipers and watched as they washed the water away, if only life was so simple, that moment could be washed away, but life wasn't simple.

Angad sighed as he felt his mobile vibrate, he took it out expecting a call from Kripa but was stunned yet glad to see a message from someone else.

"Hey, I'm in Mumbai, flight just landed, come pick me up if you're awake, if not I'll get a taxi"

Angad smiled at his luck, he started the car and reversed towards the road and began driving towards the airport. Finally, someone he knew he could talk to, someone he knew wouldn't judge him or accuse him of taking advantage of Kripa.

Kripa stretched out her hand for Angad, she felt around the bed but there was nothing there. Puzzled she sat up and switched on her bedside lamp, she looked around the room but Angad wasn't there. She smiled to herself as she recalled the night's passion, she grinned shamelessly and got out of bed and grabbed some clothes to look for Angad, he was probably downstairs, she glanced at the clock, but it was too early for him to be downstairs, he was usually sleeping at this time of the night. Kripa shook her head and continued putting her clothes on.

"Angad?" Kripa knocked on the bathroom door, when she recieved no reply, she opened the door and found the bathroom empty, looking confused she went downstairs calling out his name, she began to panic when she got no reply, she searched each room but found no Angad.

She sat on the sofa looking worried, where had he gone? why did he go? Was it because of what happened, Kripa breathed deeply and reassured herself that maybe he had gone for an early drive, he liked doing that a lot, yes she reassured herself again, he would be back soon, there was nothing to worry about, but still she should call him.

Kripa rushed upstairs and grabbed her mobile and checked for any messages from Angad but was disappointed when nothing came up, she keyed in his number and pressed the call button, the phone rang, if she knew Angad well, he wasn't going to pick up but she was relieved when he answered.

"Angad, where are you?"

"Calm down Kripa, a friend of mine has just flown in from America, he asked me to pick him up from the airport, I'm on my way there"

"oh" She sighed deeply in relief and questioned when he would be back but he gave no answer and had hung up, well at least she knew where he was.

Kripa decided to get some more sleep, who knew when Angad would return, Kripa switched the landing light off as she went backupstairs to get some sleep.
