Chapter 8
The silence from Angad was enough to make Kripa's heart beat faster than ever, his intense glare rocked Kripa's core, it was like he was staring right into her soul, questioning her reason for een daring to think about the room let alone entering it, her heart raced as Angad gripped her arm, he swiftly turned and dragged her to their bedroom and flung her onto the bed. Kripa looked up at Angad and his fiery eyes waiting for him to say something but he stayed silent, he turned on his heel and went back to Adi's room and picked up the fallen key, he pulled the door shut and locked it then returned the key to its rightful place around his neck.
He went back into his bedroom where Kripa was still sitting on the bed looking scared, she bit her botton lip as Angad shut the door behind him and came towards her. He grabbed her arm again and pulled her up from the bed and forced her to face him, his hands gripped her shoulders and he shook her
"What the hell were you doing in that room?!!!!"
His voice seemed to echo in the room causing Kripa to become more frightened, Angad had never been this angry before, sometimes he would yell at her but not like this, he shook her again and demanded an answer, Kripa tried to speak but her voice kept trailing off, Angad pushed her away from him and ran his hands through his hair. He looked at Kripa with hurt clearly visible in his eyes.
"how could you Kripa? Whenever you have wanted something, I gave it you straight away without a question and for that I've only ever asked one thing from you, to stay away from that room, and you couldn't even do that?"
The guilt overtook Kripa, she could here her soul cursing her for betraying Angad's trust, she opened her mouth to speak but Angad spoke first.
"When I saw my keychain had come loose yesterday, I dismissed it thinking that maybe it had come off on its own, but how could that be possible? It had never come off before then why that night?"
Kripa's fear grew as she recalled taking the chain from around Angad's neck, had Angad seen her? Was that how he knew she would manage to get into the room, but he had been drunk, how was it possible that he caught her if he was drunk.
It was as if he could read her mind, Angad spoke and answered her silent questions.
"But then it dawned on me that you were awake but I thought there was no way Kripa would do something like that, so I decided I would test you and see whether you would keep my faith in tact. I wasn't sure how I would find out if it was you but I knew if it was you then you wouldn't pass up the opportunity to get my key, we went to the party and I began drinking champagne, I looked at you and I was praying that you would stop me from drinking, stop me so I wouldn't get drunk but instead you gave me more champagne, you wanted me to get drunk, I decided to let you continue your plan and went along with it, when you went to the bathroom, I replaced the champagne in the bottle with apple cider, I drank the whole bottle and began to act like I was drunk, when I was on the sofaI pretended to fall asleep but I was awake, hoping you would just go upstairs but you didn't, you came to me and took my key"
Angad sat on the bed and put his head in his hands, Kripa's eyes welled up, she had hurt the man she loved, she had broken his trust, lost his faith in her, Kripa slowly went towards him and kneeled on the floor in front of him and softly spoke
"Angad, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry"
She placed a hand on his hand but he pushed it away and stood up glaring at her again
"you're sorry? Is that all you can say? you betray my trust and all you have to say for yourself is that you're sorry? No Kripa, sorry won't cut it this time, I want, no I demand an explanation, if I strictly told you not to go near that room then why did you?"
Kripa lowered her gaze but Angad swiftly forced her face up again and made her look into his eyes, he urged her to speak and slowly she did
"I...I just wanted to see what was in the room, I wanted to know what was in that room that you kept it locked"
Angad chuckled for a brief second then continued to glare at Kripa, but his glare did nothing that time, Kripa spoke more
"Can you blame me Angad? You keep that room locked all the time, if I even look at the door you tell me not to, if I ask about it you change the topic, what the hell is so special about that room!"
Angad turned around, he didn't want to face her, he didn't want to answr he questions but Kripa turned him around and asked him again yet he still didn't answer, she continued to ask making Angad angrier
"DAMN IT KRIPA! Why can't you just leave things alone! If I ell you its got nothing to do with you then just accept that"
Angad lied through his teeth but didn't show it to Kripa, but she wasn't going to let Angad make her forget this, she wanted to know what was special about that room and she wanted to know now
"No Angad, tell me, what's in that room!! I have a right to know, this is my house too"
She badgered him with questions and accusations that he didn't trust her, that he didn't care for her, her voice echoed in his head, he tried to get away from her but she persisted, he had to get her to stop, Angad didn't want to blurt out the truth, he needed her to stop talking, he needed to avert her mind elsewhere but no matter what he said, Kripa continued questioning him, Angad grabbed her arm and pushed her against the cupboard, he held her arms against the cupboard and leaned forward and kissed her.
He was hoping the kiss would last a short amount of time, enough to divert her attention but as he tried to pull away, she held onto him, he tried to come back to his senses but his mind went blank, the only thing in his mind at that moment was Kripa, he slowly released his grip on her arms and allowed her to put her arms around him, he placed his hand on her waist and pulled her closer to him deepening their kiss. Kripa stepped forward, Angad stepped back, she stepped forward again and he stepped back until he was against the bed, without a thought he stopped kissing her and picked her up in his arms ad placed her gently on the bed, he lay next to her and gazed into her eyes, nothing seemed more important than being with her right then, he lifted his hand and stroked her cheek, she lifted her hands and touched his face bringing him to her, he bought his lips onto hers and kissed her passionately, their hands wandered over each others bodies releasing each other from their clothes discarding them like they were obstacles in their way. Angad stared at Kripa's naked body, his lips began exploring her body, she moaned with pleasure each time his lips touched a different part of her body, he continued to kiss her and pulled the covers on top of them, their bodies moved with each other as they gave themselves to each other, as they became one.
***************
Angad slept peacefully that night, no nightmares, nothing, he snuggled closer to Kripa who was resting in his arms, he opened his eyes slowly and stared at her, he kissed her forehead and smiled to himself and pulled her closer. His mind went back to the night, he grinned shamelessly as he remembered the passion they shared, as he remembered her surrendering herself to him, he pulled Kripa off him slowly and watched as she rolled to the other side, he covered her with the duvet and sat up in bed, he yawned and brushed a hand over his face, he looked aroudn the room, there was something diffrerent about it, it was finally their bedroom in the right sense.
Angad continued to grin, his eyes fell on the cupboard mirror, his smile vanished and reality dawned upon him, he looked hastily to his side and saw Kripa sleeping peacefully. He stared at himself in the mirror as he recalled the night once again but this time his face was covered in guilt, in shame, what had he done. Unable to look at himself in the mirror any longer he pushed the covers off of him and rushed to the bathroom, he ran the shower and let the water fall on to his body, he stayed there for sometime letting the water wash his body as if it was washing away his sins, his guilt, his shame.
He shut the tap off and stepped out of the cubicle, he reached out for a towel and wrapped it around his waist heading towards the bedroom, he opened the door slowl and watched Kripa sleep peacefully, Angad forced himself to look away, he walked over to his cupboard and grabbed some clothes to wear then hleft the room. He stood outside Aditya's room, he didn't have the strength to go inside, the guilt was taking him over, seeping into his core, he shook his head and turned on his heels and left the house, getting into his car he drove, he had no clue where he was going to go, he just drove.
