Part 10

 

Life changes

 

Bhoomi, Sawri and Sia have gone to the Malkapur bazaar again and they run into Agni and his friends.

 

Sawri: Eh Bhoomi dekho wo raha Agni or oske dost bhi saath hai

 

Bhoomi: Are wah! Sia (sarcastic) hame pata hai phirse Agni ko to tum apne paas hee rakhogee

 

Sawri: Bhoomi tumhe pata nahi kitna chahtee hai Sia ose

 

Both burst out laughing and making it a joke

 

Sia: (irritated) Tum dono aawaaz neechee rakho

 

Agni notices them and comes over with his group

 

Agni: Kya ajeeb ittefaq hai me or mere dost aap sabse milne Sumaina jaane ka soch rahe the

 

Bhoomi: Or ham tum sab ko milne ke liye yaha aarahe the

 

They share a laugh and then Agni's friends come forward and take Bhoomi and Sawri with them. Agni smiles at Sia and then leads the way walking side by side. It had been some time since they met.

 

Sia: Hamne socha tha ke tumse hamaree Aryanagar ke mele me mulaqaat zaroor hogi 

 

Agni; ha, maine bhi socha tha ke aapke saath waha bara maza aaehga per me….ab aapse kya chupaana Rajkumari Sia. Me aapse jhooth nahi bole sakta. Darasal mujhe laga ke sahi hoga ke me naahi aao warna khamakha Maharaj Dharam naaraaz hojaate or meree beizatee hoti or mujhe bohat bura lagta

 

Sia: Hum jaante hai Agni or hame tumhaaree yahee baat to pasand aatee hai. Wese hame to accha lagta agar Maharaj Dharam ko tumhe khush dekhkar bura lagta per shayad wo waqt or jage theek nahi thi. Shayad isse Rajkumar Veer ko bhi bura lagta

 

Agni: Or onke naate aapki behen ko bhi

 

Sia: ha….

 

They continue walking in silence for a while

 

Agni: Mujhe do din pehle hee khabar milee ke Rajkumar Harsh, Ramghar kee Rajkumari Sunaina se shaadi karahe hai

 

Sia; Sahi suna tumne

 

Agni: Per mujhe to lagta tha ke onke irade to kuch or the or kisee or kee taraf nazar thi

 

He gives her a smug look

 

Sia: (laughs) Ha thee per kisee ne onhe sahi waqt pe kissee or more bhejdiya, jo ham sab ke liye balai ka sabab bana

 

Agni: Wo to mujhe nazar aahee raha hai

 

They walked some more

 

Sia: Ham chahte hai Agni ke tum or tumhaare dost hamare saath Sumaina chale aaj raat ke khaane ke liye. Hame yakeen hai ma ko tum sab ka sobhaov bohat pasand aaehga

 

Agni: Theek hai, jesee aapkee marzi

 

She smiles and both walk together to find the others

 

They return back to Sumaina and have a good cheerful dinner. At first Nivriti wasn't keen on entertaining them but somehow got impressed by Agni's mannerisms and witty talks and also had a good time.

 

Before leaving Agni gave Sia an assuring look that they'll meet again and she retorted back with the same.

 

Then the family sat together in the hall.

 

Nivi: Are maharaj yeh agni kitna accha aadmi hai, kitne acche sanskaar or budhi hai oskee

 

S.M: ha, ha, wo sab to nazar aahee raha tha. Wese aaj hamara manoranjan kaafi khoob raha oskee dukh bhari kahani sun, sun ke. Aisee kahaniya ho to koun kitaabe parna chahega

 

Sia: (is a bit upset by that) Per pitaji hame yakeen hai ke Maharaj Dharam ne oske saath ghore anyay kiya hai

 

S.M: Ham samajh sakte hai Sia per Maharaj Dharam me bhi saare raj gharane ke jesa hee khoon hai jo ke her waqt apni jage mehfoos rakhna chahta hai

 

Avantika: Wese kaha jaata hai ke hame hamesha dusro pe ungli uthaane se pehle sochna chaheeye ke aakhir yeh istarha kyu hai or phir….

 

Bhoomi: Oooh bhagwaan ke liye apna yeh bhashan band karo Avantika

 

She stops and makes a face at Bhoomi for being interrupted.

 

Nivi: Hame to daya aatee hai Agni per. Chalo accha hai aakhir khaar wo ek accha sipahi to ban saka. Hame yaad hai ke bachpan me hame bhi yeh saare sipahi bohat acche lagte the.

 

The girls giggle amongst themselves at their mother's funny stories.

 

Nivi: (annoyed) Sia, agar ham tumhaaree jage hote to aise muskuraa nahi rahe hote. Maana ke Agni ko tum kuch kuch pasand aane lagee ho per tum iske laayak bilkul nahi. Jo Rajkumar Harsh ke saath huwa oske baad to yehi socha jaaehga. Or wese bhi ek maamooli sipahi ke saath to yeh ho hee nahi sakta. Dekhye Maharaj agar wo bhi koi rajkumar hota to ham khushi, khushi oskee shaadi hamaree kisee bhi betee ke saath karadete per yeh….Sab kuch tumhaaree wajese huwa hai Sia

 

Sia rolls her eyes

 

Nivi: or ab yeh Rajkumar Veer bhi achanak se gayab hogaye ke ab lagta hee nahi ke waapis aaenge bhi ke nahi. Wahape jo bhi umeede or aas lagayee thi sabke sab mittee me milgayee

 

Sia: Kya? (is surprised and looks at Ananya)

 

Ananya: Aaj Aryanagar se dusra sandesh aaya tha Sia jisme likha tha ke Rajkumar Veer pata nahi kab lautenge waapis or shayad hamesha ke liye chale hee gaye hai

 

S.M: ab Ananya ziada udaas mat ho. Shaadi se barker kisee kee mohabbat paana bara hota hai. Tumhe wo to mila

 

She gets up and leaves pretty upset. Sia notices it and follows her.

 

Nivi: (hysterical crying) Ooooh Maharaj sab kuch khatam hogaya sab kuch. Ek Rajkumar Harsh the or wo bhi chale gaye. Ab ham yeh kabhi nahi bardaasht karenge ke wo Rajkumari Sunaina aake hamse sab kuch cheenle. Kabhi nahi!

 

S.M: chalye Maharani aise udaas honese kuch nahi hoga. Wese aap pratna kijye ke agar aisa hee hone waala hai to bhagwaan aapko hamare pehle bulaale.

 

She continues with her hysterics after hearing that and soon everyone leaves from there.

 

Chatrapur

 

Veer is sitting outside watching the men working on building the mandir but his thoughts were only focused on Ananya. Her beautiful smile kept flashing in front of him. Her sweet voice kept ringing in his ears and the flow of her soft tresses kept brushing against his face.

 

Veer: Maine aapko sandesh bheja tha oska aapne jawaab kyu nahi diya Ananya? Kahi aap mujhse naaraaz to nahi hogayee?

 

He spoke to himself as he dwelled on the reason.

 

Sainik: Rajkumar Veer jaldi chalye, waha mandir ke peeche ek bhuri aurat achanak behosh hogayee

 

Veer got up immediately after hearing that and ran towards the place. He moved the crowd and took the old woman's head in his lap and told someone to bring water. They refused and said that her condition was due to drinking the water. It has been poisoned. He is shocked to hear that but he doesn't have time to waste so he picks the woman up in his arms and carries her quickly to the vaid.

 

The vaid does manage to save her but Veer is left with a lot of questions. Why are the wells poisoned and who is responsible for it. As he came out he got hold of that sainik again.

 

Veer: Mujhe yeh batao ke yeh sab kya horaha hai? Istarha to saare log marjaaenge

 

Sainik: yeh sab gao ke sena per rehne waale daakooa kee wajese horaha hai. On logo ne kai saalo se saare gao waalo pe zulm or atyachaar kiye hai. Or ab inko saza dee hai

 

Veer: to yaha ke maharajoa ne onke khilaaf kuch kyu nahi kiya?

 

Sainik: yaha ke koi bhi maharaj ya to maardiye jaate hai ya to phir darr ke bhaag jaate hai. Abhi bhi Maharaj Hemant waapis nahi aaye.

 

Veer thought about everything he just heard. He had never tolerated injustice before and he wasn't going to now. He will make sure all the people are saved from the doom of those vicious daakoos.

 

Veer: Ab yeh saare log ko me on daakoo se azaadi dilaoonga. (turned towards the sainik) Mujhe yeh batao ke yaha pe koi paani ka jharna hai ya ke koi nadi?

 

Sainik: Ji Rajkumar, yaha paas me hee ek pahaar hai jiske neeche se ek nadi behtee hai. Agar mandir ke aas paas khoda jai to wo paani yaha aasakta hai.

 

Veer smiled as an idea popped up in his head. He knew what he had to do so he left from there back to his tent. When he sat down he remembered Ananya and how he must inform her that now it would take him even longer than he told her about. He sat down with the scroll and the feather pen.

 

"Hum jaante hai Ananya ke aap hamse naraaz hai isilye shayad aapne hamare sandesh ka jawaab nahi diya. Lekin ham jaante hai ke aap ka dil kese khush kiya jaaye.  

 

Aap ki khatir, mere dil ka jaha hai haazir

Apne saare armaan, kardu me zaahir

 

Ishq bhi kya cheez hai, isme hosh rehta nahi

Yeh to hai silsila, chaino sukoon ka

Dil ke junoon ka afreen

Aapki baatose, mulaqaatose, khayalose

Huwa me huwa bara hee mutasir

 

Kabhi kabhi to hotee hai, yaha muqamal aashiqui

Kayi karwate legee zindagee, badle na nazar aapki

Aapko batao kese, yaara samjhao kese

Saath aisa milega naa phir.

 

Aap ki khatir, mere dil ka jaha hai haazir

Apne saare armaan, kardu me zaahir

 

Hame yakeen hai ke ise parne ke baad aapke haseen chehre pe ek pyaarisee muskurahat aagayee hogi. Me samajh jaaoonga ke aapne mujhe maaf kiya.

Ananya mujhe yaha per kuch or waqt lagjaaehga per me yeh dhooriya ko bohat jald mitadunga.

 

Aap ka Veer.

 

Then he called his messenger who he always sent and told him to deliver with care and sincerity as it was really important that Ananya received it. The sainik nodded and left.

 

Sumaina

 

Ananya's room

 

Ananya is getting ready to sleep and Sia is sitting on the sofa waiting for her.

 

Ananya: Jaantee ho Sia hame lagta hai ke hamara or Rajkumar Veer ka yaha tak hee safar tha. Bohat jald ham onhe bhool bhi jaaenge or phir hamaree zindagee waapis pehle jesee hojaaehgee.

 

She wipes away a silent tear and then forces a smile. She comes and sits on the bed.

 

Ananya: Per ek baat hai ke ham onhe hamesha yaad rakhenge is baat se ke wo sabse anokhe insaan me se the. Bus (plays with the tresses of the curtain) ab hamare paas onke liye kuch nahi. Shayad yahi likha tha hamare bhaagye me.

 

Sia: (comes and sits next to her) Ananya ham jaante hai ke tum kitnee udaas ho. Tum itnee acchee or pyaaree ho ke tumhaare saath kuch bura ho hee nahi sakta

 

Ananya: Ab tum hame cheera rahi ho

 

Sia: nahi Ananya ham sach kehrahe hai. (turns away and sighs) Hame is dunya me bohat kam log pasand hai or jitne hai wo bhi kam hote nazar aarahe hai. Jitna hamne is dunya me dekha hai or dekh rahe hai osse hame yeh or bhi naagavara lagrahee hai. (turns towards Ananya and sees she is upset) Kyu na tum kuch dino ke liye Bhawanipur chaleejao. Hame yakeen hai Bhim Chacha or Pari Chachi tumse milkar bohat khush honge.

 

Ananya: ab tum hame waha kyu bhejna chahtee ho?

 

Sia: (sly smile) koi khaas waje nahi, bus naya mahole or naye logo kee wajese tumhaara man bhi badal jaaehga.

 

The real reason was that Sia knew Bhawanipur was on the border of Aryanagar so if Veer should return then Ananya can go and meet him. She can even find out about him if she is near there.

 

Next day Sia met Agni again and spent sometime with him in Sumaina. Then when she returned back to the mahal with him she was surprised to find Sunaina had come to meet her.

 

Sia: Sunaina yeh Agni hai or Agni yeh Rajkumari Sunaina hai

 

Sunaina: Tumse milkar khushi huwee Agni kyu ke ham ne tumhaare baare me kaafi suna tha Sia se.

 

Agni: Acha? Me asha karta hu ke wo sab accha hee tha (he gave Sia a mischievous look and she gave him a shy smile)

 

Then he took their leave. Then both Sia and Sunaina walked towards Sia's room to talk more comfortably.

 

Sia: To tum Avdhi kab jaarahee ho

 

Sunaina: Shaadi to Ramgarh me hee hogi or oske agle din hee ham Avdhi ke liye nikal jaaenge. (almost in tears) tum hame bohat yaad aaohgee Sia, kyu ke ham jaante hai ke hamara Avdhi se nikal na bara kathin hojaaehga. (holds Sia's hand) Waada karo Sia ke tum hamse Avdhi milne zaroor aaogi

 

Sia: Ham waada karte hai Sunaina.

 

Sunaina: Wese yeh Agni wesa hee hai jesa tumne hame bataya tha

 

Sia: Ab to tumhe yakeen hogaya na jo hamne tumhe kaha tha

 

Sunaina: hmmmm…. (she didn't answer because she saw something Sia hadn't. She saw how Agni looked at her as if he wasn't interested in Sia at all. Was it because her position was higher than Sia? Whatever it was it wasn't good and she knew that Sia won't listen so there was no point telling her.)

 

Months passed, Ananya had gone to Bhawanipur just for a few days but liked it a lot so stayed on long and plus Pari Chachi's health kept going on and off so she had to stay to attend her. Sia missed her a lot but she did send her regular letters. Now she was in her room reading one.

 

"kesee ho Sia? Ham jaante hai ke tum theek hee hogi. Ham bhi yaha per theek hee hai. Pari Chachi kee tabiyat abhi bhi theek nahi huwee jiskee wajese ham abhi bhi yaha per hai. Sia ham tumhe ek baat batana chahte hai. Kuch dino pehle ham Aryanagar gaye the yeh dekh ne ke liye ke Rajkumar Veer waapis aagaye ke nahi. Jab ham mahal pohoche to hame bataya gaya ke Maharaj Dharam or Rajkumari Sakshi to yatra pe gaye hai or kuch dino me waapis lautenge. Hamne jab Rajkumar Veer ke baare me poocha to hame kisine kuch nahi bataya. Pata nahi kyu per hame laga ke hame batana chahte hee nahi. Phir hame ek sainik ne aake sandesh diya jo Rajkumar Veer ne hamare liye chora tha. Osme yahi likha tha Sia ke wo jaante hai ke ham is waqt Aryanagar me hai per onke paas waqt nahi aane ke liye. Isse hame ek hee baat samajh me aatee hai ke ab onhe hamaree koi parwa nahi….

 

She stops reading as she can't tolerate Ananya's pain anymore. She knew she must have been devastated when writing this and wished she could have been with her but circumstances were such which didn't allow her.

 

Then a few days later she received shocking news that Agni was being sent to Rajnikot which was very far away. So far that it took just ten days to get there from Sumaina. He told her himself when he came to Sumaina.

 

Agni: Me jaanta hu Rajkumari Sia ke aapko bara dukh huwa yeh sun kar per mujhe khud nahi pata tha ke aisa hone waala hai. Haalat hee aise hogaye or phir isse me apni manzil kee taraf or aage bar sakhoonga

 

Sia: Ham samjhte hai Agni or ham hamesha yahi chahte hai ke tumhe tumhaaree har manzil me safalta mile. (is upset but hides it by forcing a smile)

 

Agni: Hamare raaste zaroor alag hogaye hai per ham acche dost to rehee sakte hai na?

 

Sia: Ham wo hamesha chahenge.

 

Now she knew that her and Agni's alliance was over because he was going away far. She also felt trapped in Sumaina and wanted an escape so decided to go to Avdhi to meet Sunaina. She got married to Harsh last month so now she would have been settled in and was the perfect time. She asked her father for permission and he was a bit hesitant to let her leave.

 

S.M: Ham tumhe roke nahi rahe hai Sia bus yeh keh rahe hai ke agar tum bhi chalee jao gee to ham yaha kisse baat karenge? Baaki sab ke sab to bewacoofo ka tola hai.

 

Sia: ham jaante hai pitaji per hai to aapke apne hee na

 

S.M: Ha sahi kaha tumne. Acha yeh batao ke kya tum Rajkumar Harsh ko phirse jhelsakho gee or phir wo Maharaj Dayavardhan bhi to hai…kya kar paogee?

 

Sia: ham maante hai ke kathin hai per ham waha Sunaina se milne jaarahe hai to jhelna to parega hee.

 

S.M: (took her hand in his) Theek hai. Apna khayaal rakhna or waapis jaldi aana.

 

Sia: Ji pitaji (kissed his forehead) Ham waapis jaldi aane kee zaroor koshish karenge.

 

Then she set off for Avdhi in her carriage. When she got there she was welcomed by both Harsh and Sunaina. Harsh as usual boasted about the place and Sunaina gave her a warm welcome. She felt really good to see her again after so long.
