Angad looks up to see Kripa by the door, he gets up, avoids stepping on the glass and faces her as she stands by the door, he doesn't say anything but simply shuts the door on her face.
Part 18
The next day Kavya is in his office when a reporter comes in
Ka - aah Miss Ria Bakshi, please take a seat
R - as you know, I'm here for the inside story on your fued with Mr Angad Khanna
Ka - well what can I say, we were friends, good friends, I genuinely liked him but I was unaware of his plans to ruin my business
R - is it true you were behind Mr Khanna losing the contract he gets every year
Ka - no, word spread round about what happened, Mr Malhotra found out and decided he didn't want to work with Mr Khanna, it was entirely his decision
R - so what will you be doing now?
Ka - nothing, I will put all this behind me and carry on working
R - weill you be working with Mr Khanna again?
Ka - no, I tried working with him and it failed, now I'll never work with him. You may leave now
The reporter smiles and leaves, Kavya puts his hands behind his head and leans back against his chair
Ka - you're finished Khanna, once this news gets out, you won't be able to show your face anywhere, and you'll come to me begging for forgiveness but you won't get it, I'll be waiting for the day when you'll be out on the streets
Kavya smiles to himself and gets up and leaves his office. Meanwhile Anjali is in her car, she drives to Kripa's shop, she walks in and sees Kripa with a customer, Kripa sees Anjali and finishes talking with the customer and walks to Anjali
K - what can I do for you?
An - I came to see how you were, Kripa I know you think I hate you
K - you're right and I hate you too
An - Kripa I came here to talk to you, to see how you were doing after everything that happened to Angad....
K - more like come to see us and laugh at our state, Angad is in pieces because of what your husband did
An - Kavya only retaliated to what you and Angad did
K - correction...what I did....Angad had nothing to do with it
An - what?
Kripa sits down on a chair, Anjali sits opposite her and places her hand on Kripa's leg
K - everything that happened, it was me who tried to sabotage Kavya's contract, Angad tried to stop me, he didn't want to go against Kavya
An - but he had the papers....
K - because he was stopping me from doing anything to them, Angad never did anything, he never wished any harm to Kavya, in fact, he's mad at me, he hasn't spoken to me since the day it happened
An - Kripa....
Anjali sees Kripa is crying, she sits by Kripa and puts her arm around her shoulder, Kripa hugs her back and cries on her shoulder
K - he hates me Anju, he said, he will find Prithvi, and prove to me I made a mistake, and when he does, he will leave me.....I don't want to lose him Anju, I can't live without him
Anjali frowns and rubs her back
An - ok listen to me, I will talk to Kavya, and make him stop what he's doing, but you have to promise me something
K - what?
An - you'll still be friends with me and Prachi, I can assure you, everything we said that day wasn't a lie. we both love you Kripa, and Prachi is so hurt with all this happening, I can't see her in this state, or you, please Kripa, just come back to us
Kripa pulls away from Anjali and looks at her then hugs her again
K - I'm sorry for everything Anju, I'm such a bad friend, I misjudged everything again
An - its ok Kripa, calm down, we should go see Prachi, she misses us both
K - sure, but I need to go home and see Angad
An - ok, I'll meet you in an hour at Prachi's
Kripa smiles and gives Anjali another hug, she then waits for Anjali to leave then locks up and heads home. When she gets there she finds Angad sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed, she sits by him and puts her hand on his leg causing him to open his eyes, he shifts in his seat and looks at her
A - you've been crying
K - Anjali came to the shop today
A - let me guess you insulted her
K - no, we talked and I told her you had nothing to do with anything, she said she will talk to Kavya....we're friends again now
A - is this all a joke to you?
K - what?
A - you're like a yo-yo, you spend years without talking to them, then suddenly your friends again, and then your not and now you are
K - well things change
A - right.....well if you think by tellng me you're friends with Anjali and Prachi again, is going to change my mind about finding Prithvi and leaving you, then I'm afraid you're mistaken
K - but Angad....
A - Kripa I've made my decision, don't try and change it....I'm tired I need to rest
Kripa nods her head slowly, Angad gets up to go upstairs when he hears the doorbell, both him and Kripa head for the door, when they get there, Angad opens it to find a swarm of reporters
R1 - Mr Khanna is it true you tried to sabotage Mr Nanda's business?
A - huh....erm no
R2 - but we heard directly from Mr Nanda, this is what you did, are you saying he is lying?
A - no I'm not...
R3 - so you admit to sabotaging the business?
A - look this is all a big misunderstanding, and I'd appreciate it if you leave
R1 - but Mr Khanna, how do you explain the sudden decrease in your company's profits and contracts
A - its business, there's ups and downs, its nothing to worry about
R3 - if thats's the case then why did you fail to get the contract you get every year?
A - like I said, its business, it happens, now leave
R2 - then please explain this
The reporter shoves a newspaper into Angad's hand, Angad looks at Kripa then looks at the front page, there is a picture of Kavya and another picture of Angad, the headline says "Angad Khanna is a backstabber - Kavya Nanda"
A -this....I....
Suddenly the reporters bombard several questions at Angad, he looks lost and just stands there, Kripa looks at him and stands in front of him
K - no more questions, now leave before I call the police
The reporters slowly walk away, Kripa closes the door and turns to see Angad sitting on the sofa with a photo in his hand, Kripa sits by him and puts her hand on his shoulder, she looks at the photo and sees its of Angad's parents
A - how did this happen Kripa.....its all ruined....
K - Angad....
A - no...i'm going home Kripa....
K - but....
A - no dad was right.....I am unfit to handle a business, at least if I go home now and admit he was right, he will support me
K - ok I'll pack our clothes
A - no, I'm going alone
K - but Angad
A - no buts, I'm going
coming up - Anjali and Kripa visit Prachi. Anjali tries to talk to Kavya, will he listen?
